Most meals were made with canned food like SPAM, Campbell's Soup, Hot Dogs, etc. This could be used to make a quick and sometimes delicious meal. This would let busy parents cook for kids while still making something tasty.

The fashion of the 1960's focused on breaking boundaries for women's style. Take for example pants. Pants were actually very uncommon for girls to wear before the 1960's as it was expected for women to wear around knee-length skirts. However, capris and bell bottoms started being worn by women. Mini skirts, which were started by designers Mary Quant and John Bates, also became popular for many teenagers. For men, Plaids were becoming more formal. Otherwise, men's fashion didn't change that much.

Cars really evolved in the 60's. More cars started trying to be cheaper and economy-minded. One great example of this is the Chevrolet Corvair. Actually, it isn't really a good example because it was kind of a failure. It was made to compete the Volkswagon Beetle and failed. Although it did help pioneer engines for compact cars, it didn't sell that well and only lasted for 9 years.

One major aspect of 1960's culture is Greasers. Greaser's tended to be people who wanted to be "rebels without a cause" or "bad kids". These people were called Greasers, because of the hair gel they used on their hair to slick it back. The greaser subculture was influenced by 60's pop-culture like movies and TV Shows. Greasers tended to be white, male, middle class, and teenagers. However, some women did join reaser gangs and they were called "Greaser girls".
