This was when a large nationalist party started an uprising against the British. They were demanding independence. This was mainly a political protest and never got very violent. It finally came to an end in 1939 when the protesters realized it was unsuccessful.

Not only did it harm the Ottomans but hostility in Turkey, which led to the Turkish war of Independence.
