Changing Canon in D

Idea #1: I might want to change canon so that the two of us can play together. I am thinking of maybe separating the part so the two of us can play in harmony. I might also create chords to synchronise with other people.

I might also do a recording if I can't do it with multiple people, and I will add different instruments as layers.

First thing I need to do is research the styles of music in this time period, and then how to organise piano duets. I haven't yet decided which kind of instrument we are going to play so maybe it won't be a piano duet.

Branching off this idea, I also kind of want to explore how classical music can be mixed with contemporary music. For example, I kind of want to mix canon with contemporary elements but I need to do alot of research on this topic. I haven't yet decided which piece I wanted to do yet.

Game Music?

I kind of want to do game music as well because I grew up gaming with my dad and everytime I play a game I pay alot of attention to the soundtracks and how creators use soundtrack to convey a specific mood to a place or character. I feel like Zelda music is my inspiration, and I really like how they use different styles of music to represent different people (almost like a leitmotif) and it gives the game a timeless feeling.

I think I would have to do in-depth research about how creators create game music and what patterns appear in these styles. I think I would also need to come up with a character/place that I am representing for easier composition.

I think I really enjoy music because of the timelessness of it. Music can be created a long time ago but it's still enjoyable until now, perhaps even more valuable because they also contain so much information. I especially enjoy light music, with a little bit of percussion, because I feel like it places me in another place and takes me away.

Composition is really hard for me so I am probably going to choose something to do with composition. This is because everytime I try and start something, I always end up deleting it on the next day because it never sounds "right". This is a good opportunity for me to practice composition, become fluent at it and there are guidance avaliable.
