"When done regularly, moderate- and vigorous-intensity physical activity strengthens your heart muscle and can lower your risk for CHD. If you are part of a sports team, you have to communicate  and work with your teammates. Also, you have to support and be a decision maker. These are important skills for a leader. According to Psych Central, "While team sports and physical activity have been associated with improved self-esteem, better nutrition and less smoking and drug abuse among children, the present study suggests that fostering leadership skills and empathy in children may reinforce healthy lifestyle behaviors."</div>]]></description>

For example, one major disease that is a main cause of death in the United States and could be prevented by fitness is heart disease. Fitness helps lower your blood pressure and keep your heart healthy. Activities life running or swimming exercise your heart muscle and keep it "fit". According to a study done by Medical News Today, " In fact, the participants who were in the 25 [percent] of those with the highest cardiorespiratory fitness had nearly half the risk compared [with] those in the 25 [percent] with the lowest fitness levels."</div>]]></description>
