         <title>Roman Roads</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.The Roman Roads were made with a tool called Groma to make them as straight as possible. Groma was basically two boards put together into a cross.<br>2.When the road had been planned the Roman soldiers would dig two ditches on both sides of the road to act as drains.<br>3. The stones were&nbsp; gathered from the local area and laid down in different layers until they formed a hard surface that could take the weight of heavy carts. The surface of a Roman road was shaped into a camber so that rain water would just run off into the ditches.<br><br></div>]]></description>

They used the arch as the basic architectural feature to make them strong.The largest Roman bridge ever built was the Trajan bridge. It was over the river Danube. It was over 3700 feet long and 62 feet high. <br>2. They used the arch as the basic architectural feature to make them strong.<br>3. Some bridges that the Romans built still stand. For example, the oldest Roman bridge is the Pons Fabricius. Its Italian for&nbsp; <strong>Ponte Fabricio</strong>, meaning "Fabricius' Bridge".<br><br></div>]]></description>
