Danton to francusko-polski dramat historyczny z 1983 roku w reżyserii Andrzeja Wajdy. Film powstał na podstawie dramatu „Sprawa Dantona” Stanisławy Przybyszewskiej z 1929 roku. Akcja rozgrywa się w czasie rewolucji francuskiej i przedstawia konflikt między Maximilienem de Robespierre’em (Wojciech Pszoniak) i Georges’em Dantonem (Gérard Depardieu). Początkowo film miał być kręcony w Polsce, jednak wprowadzenie stanu wojennego w 1981 roku uniemożliwiło realizację projektu. Wajda przeniósł produkcję do Francji, angażując wielu polskich aktorów. Film spotkał się z bardzo dobrym przyjęciem w Polsce i we Francji. Zdobył liczne nagrody: Cezara, Prix Louis-Delluc oraz BAFTĘ za najlepszy film nieanglojęzyczny. Doceniono także rolę Gérarda Depardieu jako Dantona.
