>Harper Lee uses character development to show how the characters change and grow overtime.
>During the Christmas at Finch´s landing we see character development. Even though Scout wanted to get mad and fight Francis, she decided to calm down a little bit. This is when we see her change, or develop into a more classy person. Scout is a dynamic character.
>Throughout the Trial of Tom Robinson, Harper Lee shows a lot of character development. On a case that would normally take a few minutes to finalize, it took hours. This shows how the all white jury were slowly changing their outlook on the black community. The jury as a whole are flat characters. The black community are dynamic characters because their traits and outlook on the world develop with the trial.

>Harper Lee has many internal and external conflicts throughout the novel.
>An external conflict that comes up is racism. We see man versus society in this conflict. Some examples of people that grew up/changed were Jem, Scout, and even Atticus.
>We also see internal conflict with. Harper Lee shows internal conflict by allowing Scout to go to the trial and i left her with so many different emotions she had to think about how each side was wrong or right which was one of the huge internal conflicts.
