In exchange for their support, Adams would give them seats in the Cabinet. Jackson really won, but Adams still ended up in office.

The election of 1824 was more corrupted than the election of 1828. The election was more corrupted in 1824 because the election was unfair. For example, Jackson had more votes than John Quincy Adams but he didn't win. This proves that this is corrupted because if it wasn't corrupted Jackson would've won fair and square. Even though Jackson technically won, Adams still ended up becoming president before him.

There was serious corruption during the election of 1828. John Quincy Adams came for Andrew Jackson's wife and family life, and then Jackson did the same thing regarding Adams by saying he had a gambling problem. This was unacceptable because the election should have been about what each candidate could do for the economy.

This election was really corrupt considering everything that was done in order for John Adams to be elected. John Adams gave political favors toward the other two candidates in order for them to win against Andrew Jackson. John Adams gave Cabinet positions to the other two for his victory. Andrew lost because of this. This was a election shows that no matter the time, corruption existed and will still exist.

John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, & Calhoun cheated during the election by making deals with each other. This caused Andrew Jackson to lose the election of 1824 to John Quincy Adams even though Jackson had more votes. This goes to show that during that time, there were some corruption to get the president seat. This was unfair to the masses of not only Jackson, but to the people who voted for Jackson.

During this election, the presidential candidates were so focused on winning, that they begin to strike deals among one another to win the position. Quincy Adams made a bargain with Crawford and Clay that they would gain cabinet seats if they aid him in his campaign against Andrew Jackson. By the end of the election, Andrew Jackson had more electoral votes than Quincy Adams however, ultimately Adams won due to him working together with the other candidates.
