This organization started in november 11, 1997 when Josefina Ricaño created inviting people to do something about the growing insecurity in mexico much of the problems were caused because of the cartels in mexico.

Today they are running a campaign called “Vamonos Respetando” which means let's start respecting each other” which has the objective of making conscience in each other that we need to respect all the people and this campaign runs specially for the respect of women.

This organization made an important achievement in 2012 when they decided to help generate a public debate about the politics of drugs in Mexico. This forum was called “Foro Grogas: Un balance a un siglo de su prohibición.”

They are constantly fighting the politics of drugs with the government of Mexico.

#CONSTRUYE CONSTANCIA is an actual campaign which is mostly for youth people 14-25 years who need to have a compromise and constance with themselves to achieve their goals which mostly are to be drug free. The concept of the campaign is a “magic taxi” which drives you to “be stronger” or to your “life objective”.  This campaign will stay active until this October

This Organization is related to the topic we are working in which is Drug Trafficking Effects in Latin America, because it is a drug preventive organization which educates in prevetion area and helps solve drug addicts problems so they can have a personal and social development. As this organization works, its helps not only the people who have experienced drug problems but at the same time it helps to reduce drug dealing and as a consequence drug trafficking. 

Its an Institution created with the purpose of prevention and treatment against drug abuse. 

It’s conformed by a group professionals in the area of addictions, Doctors, Psychiatrists, therapists and nurses. It was created in 2009 in mexico city.

They focus on changing the lives of people addicted to drugs, they have the slogan “Innovacion para tu recuperación” which means innovation for your recovery. They use a different method with each patient where they evaluate each his or her case and give special treatment depending on their needs, They believe that their work can change lives especially the relation of the patient with his family. They do this through a method of convivence, involving and using values like tolerance integrity and most importantly honesty and respect.

Today apart from treating patients they give conferences about prevention of drugs, to make people aware of the consequences and keep them away from drugs. It has helped over 200 patients in past years.

It relates with our topic because the biggest effects of drug trafficking are seen in people whose lives are destroyed because of drugs, and this organization helps those persons.

In the article published by the newspaper El Informador says that DEA neglected the idea that marijuana be authorized for medical purpose, Chuck Rosenberg DEA boss said that the prohibition of marihuana would continue because there is lack of security for the low usage of medical purposes, "falta de seguridad para su uso bajo supervisión médica".

The specialist Esmeralda Yelisse García Ortega, made a study in Guadalajara, Jalisco about drugs being related to depression and anxiety. A percentage of people that inherit these substances are linked to multiple cases of suicide attempts, the article states that if a consumer tends to reveal a suicide attempt it can actually be a red light and must not be ignored. The symptoms of a depression are: mood changes, isolation and a sudden disinterest in life; the lack of sleep and the desire to eat are also common symptoms of depression. What the article suggests, is that parents and family must approach their relatives with emotional support when they are going through a crisis and provide psychiatric help of any near “IMSS” facility.

Enrique Peña Nieto has completely changed the drug politics, 5 grams of cannabis was penalized by the law, but is now expanding to 28 grams, all this with the intention of releasing the consumers in prison with fewer quantities than 28 grams. A study made by “Cide” states that 10.2% of prisoners in México are there because of carrying cannabis, the state used too many resources to imprison consumers that were in no intentions of selling the drug. Peña Nieto plans of encountering new medicinal uses for marijuana, and now porting marijuana for personal consume is no longer a felony, but the mere possession of cannabis keeps being a crime.
