         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Romanov family was brought downstairs and were told they were taking a family portrait. They were lined up and then shot by  Bolshevik troops. The remains of the family were discovered in a mass grave in the Ural Mountains in 1991. Subsequent DNA testing confirmed the identities of the Nicholas, Alexandra and three of their daughters. This left two of the  children, Anastasia and Alexei a mystery.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the beginning of WWI, Russia’s army weren’t doing so well. <br>In response to this, Nicholas II appointed himself commander-in-chief.<br>During the outcome of war, Russia endured major losses and was subject to extreme poverty and high inflation.<br>Because of this, Russian civilians blamed Nicholas II for his poor military skills.<br>They were also mad at the empress for her ill-advised role in government. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>
