It started with them protesting and going against/not agreeing with much Britain was a part of, turning into much more than that. This all led to the Revolutionary War causing the colonist's leaders to allege Britain "denied their rights". The French disliked the social classes and then decided to do something about it causing their own revolution, (that was mostly made up of the 3rd Estate members.) This made for a big advancement since they had just come from hand- making (sewing) fabrics to make clothes.
