Sarawak is the largest state in our country located at Borneo island. My state is so special and unique because it is made up of multiethnic, multicultural and multilingual. Iban is a major ethnic at Sarawak. Beside traditional rituals, we also have amazing traditional customes called Ngepan Iban. We only wear our Ngepan if there is any special or big events organised. I always been fascinated by men’s Ngepan. Men’s Ngepan originally made up from a wild animal’s skin, bone and tooth. Our ancestor believe that the spirit of wild animal can activate the inner spirit of any man who is wearing the Ngepan; strong, brave, unapologetic and confident! Beside that, an additional accessories like belt, bracelet and so on are made up from a shiny silver. That’s why our traditional costume have a high value. I am proud and glad to be Iban.
