Close ups:
Close ups are used very frequently in Grown Ups to show reaction. In comedies, there are a lot of jokes being made which makes close ups work best to show how the characters feel which is exactly what happens in this movie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOwJJPZKIys&t=1s

Acting:
The acting in his movies are very similar. There is always a joking, messing around feeling with the characters which is probably for the fact that the most common characters, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, etc are all friends. This leads seeing their chemistry on the screen.

The one actor that you can always seem to spot in Dugan's films is Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler acts in in many Dugan films including I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Jack and Jill, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, etc. Not only is Adam Sandler in these movies but the actors I previously mentioned earlier is also in many of these films as well.

Dugan also uses family issues to drive the movies. For example, in Happy Gilmore, Adam Sandler's character’s grandmother is having financial problems which he joins a golfing tournament in order to win money for her. Also, in I Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, widow Larry (Kevin James) can not name his children beneficiary on his life insurance policy. Which leads Chuck and Larry to become married. The idea of family always seems to be the main focus of Dugan's films.
