今日は、父といっしょに日本のにわに行きました。お天気はとても良かったですから、にわはいいかんじました。ぼくの一番好きなにわはいけのにわでした。魚はとてもかなしかったです。うつくしくて、しずかなでしたが、多い人がありましたから、ちょっとうすさかったです。でも、ぼくと父も好きでした。
It had been two years since I had last been to the Japanese Garden (I was in my Freshman year), so going here was really fun.  Not a lot of flowers and plants were in full bloom, seeing as it’s just barely spring.  A lot of them were starting to bud, though, so that was funny to see.  I have to admit, my father and I might have laughed at them.  I forgot there was the Moon Bridge, and my father and I spent a long time there just relaxing and talking.  All the small waterfalls were my favorite.  I’ve always loved the sound of trickling water.  It was very pretty and peaceful, if you ignored all the little children.  Nevertheless, the garden really was a very nice way to spend an hour.  I forgot how nice it could be.

にわにいけがありました。いけが大好きです。多い魚を見ました。魚は大きくて、きれいでした。魚の色はオレンジと白と黒でした。そして、小さいウォーターフォールを見ました。ぜんまい(fern)の はんせい(reflection)はきれいでした。そして、川なみ(ripples)はとてもきれいでした。れいせくかんじます (calm)。中にもくぞうみち(wooden path)です。

I have only been to the Japanese Garden once before, so it was nice being able to go back. There weren’t many flowers in bloom, which was kind of disappointing considering how many blossoming trees are in bloom around town. There were several Camellia bushes in bloom at the garden, however, which ranged from white to pink in color. (One of the white Camellias had some women’s lipstick mark on a petal which was honestly pretty hilarious.) We spent the most time at the koi pond and the pavilion. I loved the wooden pathway that snaked through the koi pond, but I honestly didn’t remember it being so small and narrow! This is probably because the last time I was there it was a rainy weekday, while on this occasion it was a sunny Saturday. Staring at the fish made me forget how crowded the area was though. Besides the koi, there weren’t many fish or animals in general at the garden. There was a bird or two though. At the pavilion, there was a little bird making itself a nest up in the corner which was quite adorable. At the pavilion, I liked how it had its own sand garden next to it. In the end I rediscovered how much I enjoy the Japanese garden and can’t wait to go back again!

Misaki-San, Sydney-San, and I went to the Portland Japanese Garden. I went to the garden a long time ago. That day was really fun. The weather was really nice. The places I liked were the pond and the rock garden. I liked the pond because I love koi. The koi were very big! I also enjoyed the rock garden because I enjoy how traditional Japanese gardens look. The garden was a lot of fun, it was also very pretty! I want to go again!
