<title> How Far Away do Students Live from Campus? For this project, we chose to ask students around the Ball State Campus, how many minutes they live away from campus. More specifically, how far away their hometown is. Many kids live in apartments just off campus so we wanted to make sure students did not just say they travel 5 minutes to get home. By asking for their hometown travel minutes we get more diverse answers. We expected by doing this project that many students we questioned would live only an hour away or less because we assumed that students from other states would go to other campuses in Indiana or go to other states rather than Ball State University. We were surprised that many people lived 240 minutes and 360 minutes away. A couple people lived 960 minutes and 1080 minutes away in different countries, which was shocking. After asking students around campus in select locations how far they lived from campus we found the mean, median, mode, and range. The mean for all the information collected was 115.1154 minutes to get home. Just under 2 hours. The median was 105 minutes. The mode was 60 minutes because that was the most common answer by a lot. The range was 1075 minutes because 1080 minutes minus 5 minutes equals 1075 minutes.	We made our graph data groupings to fit in all the information we gathered and the data is grouped by every 30 minutes it takes a student to get home. Our groupings are spread out equally. The data is skewed to the right. There are gaps in our data from 271-300 minutes and 301-330 minutes. There are two outliers in our data in the grouping of 331-360 minutes and &lt;360 minutes. If we were to group, the data by every hour instead of 30 minute increments it would not have accurately depicted the data we collected. Many people gave an answer with a 30-min specification and that is shown in the graphs we created with the grouping that we chose. There would be no point in making our groupings a number smaller than 30 because only a handful of people gave an answer with a number more specific than that showing in a 30-minute grouping. On the other hand, if we were to make the groupings larger, such as a group for every hour, we would not accurately depict our data because there are many people that specified an hour but also many that specified an hour and 30 minutes.</title>
