My internship at i-City Theme Park commenced on 17 Mac 2025 i-City is a renowned theme park located in Shah Alam, Malaysia, known for its vibrant attractions, light displays, and smart city technologies.

On the first day, I attended an induction session where I was introduced to the company’s background, mission, vision, and organizational structure. The HR team provided us with a tour of the park and briefed us on safety protocols, company policies, and dress code.

I was assigned to the Operations Team, where I met my supervisor, Sze Ling and team members. They briefed me on the department's functions and current projects.

During the first week, I was assigned the following tasks like how to managed machine, handle the customer.

My first week at i-City Theme Park was both enlightening and enjoyable. I have begun to understand the inner workings of a major entertainment venue and am excited to contribute more in the coming weeks. I look forward to gaining hands-on experience and further developing my professional skills.

In my second week at i-City Theme Park, I continued learning about the daily operations of a large-scale amusement park. My main responsibilities this week included assisting with ride operation procedures under supervision, supporting guest services at the entrance and ticketing booths, shadowing safety checks and understanding emergency protocols.

On other side, i learn about key learnings and Experience like gained deeper insight into how ride operator follows strict safety guidelines before each session, learned how the park coordinates crowd control during weekends and public holidays, understood the importance of customer service in ensuring guest satisfaction and safety. I also learn about how to developed better communication skills while interacting with visitors, especially families with children.

For the challenging, i learn a few things like managing guest expectations during long waiting times. Then, Standing long hours during weekend operations.

So this week, we contribute each other to settle the project and contributing to a project or doing mutual cooperation in conjunction with the opening of a new place called fun-fun park.

Week 3 of my internship coincided with the festive Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, leading to a significant increase in visitor turnout. This week offered hands-on exposure to crowd management, festive event coordination, and enhanced customer service practices during peak periods.

Then, assisted the operations team in monitoring visitor flow, especially the popular attractions such as Spacewalk and Helped implement queue systems and provided directional assistance to maintain smooth visitor circulation.

The skills that i have learn such as get knowledge how to handle large crowds during festive seasons. Then, Event coordination and the importance of cultural sensitivity in guest experience. Improved communication and problem-solving under pressure.

The challenge that i faced like Handling visitor complaints about long wait times. Then the solution help to communicate expected wait times and provided entertainment to keep customer engaged.

Week 4 marked the post-Raya period, where the park experienced a slight drop in crowd volume compared to the previous festive week. This provided an opportunity to focus on operational assessments, maintenance coordination, and preparing for upcoming school holiday promotions.

The key respondsibilities is Assisted in gathering feedback from guests regarding the Raya celebration and helped the team evaluate what worked well and what could be improved for future festive events. Then, Recorded minor technical issues and reported them to the maintenance team.

The challenge that i face is Identifying areas that needed repair but weren’t clearly reported and the solution took initiative to document and take photos of issues, which helped the maintenance team prioritize tasks.

This week, my focus continued on the core operations of the park, including crowd control, queue management, safety protocols, and daily attraction inspections. I also began shadowing the team responsible for managing guest services and handling real-time incident responses.

The keys of responsibilities safety checks and test run before we open it and participated in rotating shifts everyday on rides such as Peterpann, Rescue Hero, Galaxy Storm and others. Then guest interaction With help answer guest inquiries and supported the distribution of park maps and schedules.

For skills Developed, its Improved my communication skills by interacting with both guests and staff, Gained deeper insight into operational protocol for theme park safety and learned the importance of time sensitive coordination among various departments.

The Challenge that i faced managing long queues during a weekend event required quick thinking and teamwork and some guests were uncooperative regarding safety guidelines, which tested my patience and problem-solving approach.

Week 7 gave me more opportunities to actively support day-to-day park operations with less supervision. I rotated between several high-traffic zones and helped monitor peak crowd flow near popular attractions. I was also introduced to the internal radio communication system and used it to relay wait time updates and minor guest assistance needs.
