She was skilled in X- ray infraction and X-ray crystallography. She used this and a photo of a DNA strand to discover the helix structure of DNA.
Her work was stolen by Maurice Wilkins, who showed it to James Watson and Francis Crick.
She died of cancer without getting credit for her work.
