Opposition from her dad, pressure from society, persecution at medical school didn't stop her from excelling and gaining scholarships.

She later studied pedagogy and began to train teachers  in revolutionary methods of aiding children's development.

She is a good learner and one of my favourite women of all time, because she challenged unnecessary conventions.

She is intelligent, articulate and very passionate. She gives hope and let people know that  you can get to any height you desire to notwithstanding your background or circumstances only if you believe in yourself, work hard and refuse to be defeated. Her work with black girls and women is endearing and she’s been a beacon of hope to all females that dare to dream.
