The design philosophy of the next-generation DeLorean is said to be a complete break from current car design.

DeLorean continues to imagine future concepts. A familiar car from the movie “Back to the Future,” DeLorean announced its return with a new model “Alpha5 EV” for the first time in 40 years at the end of May. Now, breaking away from traditional automotive design, the next-generation Omega 2040 concept looks as if it was built for driving in a world ravaged by climate change.

The future wheel is a strategic foresight tool used to explore and visualize the potential consequences of future developments by mapping out a central change or trend and its direct and indirect impacts. It starts with identifying a specific event or innovation, then creates a visual representation of its immediate effects, followed by a deeper examination of secondary and tertiary consequences. This method helps organizations and individuals anticipate how various factors might evolve and interact over time, facilitating more informed decision-making and strategic planning by revealing a comprehensive view of possible future scenarios. The "Apple Car" is a highly anticipated, yet speculative, project rumored to be in development by Apple Inc. While details remain sparse, the concept revolves around Apple's potential entry into the automotive market, leveraging its expertise in technology and design. Key features that have been speculated include advanced autonomous driving capabilities, integration with Apple's ecosystem (such as seamless connectivity with iOS devices), and a focus on user experience with cutting-edge interfaces and smart technology. The project, often referred to as "Project Titan," reflects Apple's ambition to innovate in new domains, combining its technological prowess with automotive design to potentially disrupt the industry. However, as of now, the specifics of the Apple Car remain largely under wraps, with ongoing speculation and anticipation in the tech and automotive sectors.

MINI believes that in the future, we will still need to use vehicles such as cars to travel from point A to point B. However, the concept of “ownership” will change, with the concept of “sharing” or Sharing Economy playing a major role. Readers must imagine that in the future, no cars will be left unused, but will be rotated for use when someone nearby needs them. When finished using them, they will be released to others who need them, and it will happen automatically. All cars can move without a driver. The movement will be driven by clean energy… Everyone will have no more parking problems, no more ownership problems, no more car insurance problems. Traffic conditions will improve, no more pollution problems, and the air quality will improve in order… This is the future that BMW Group and MINI have envisioned that it will definitely happen.

Slovak designer Professor Štefan Klein began working on flying cars in the late 1980s. Having developed the AeroMobil, he left the company to develop a new idea as the AirCar, and set up Klein Vision with colleague Anton Zajac.[2][3]

The main fuselage of the AirCar doubles as a two-seat road car with four large road wheels. Styled like a sports coupe, it contributes 30-40 percent of the total lift when in the air. For flight it is fitted with foldout wings and extending tailbooms carrying a high tail. A pusher propeller is permanently installed between the fuselage and tail, and a safety parachute is installed. Construction is primarily a semi-monocoque of carbon fibre composite over a steel subframe. Over 20 programmable servo motors are used to perform the transition between road and air configurations.[4][5] When on the road, the retracted tail surface creates a downforce similar to conventional rear aerofoils.[6]

Power is provided by a 1.6 litre BMW road car engine, running on automotive petrol or gasoline and delivering 104 kilowatts (139 hp).[5]

The prototype AirCar is of comparable length to a Mercedes S-Class saloon, at 5.2 metres (17 ft 1 in), and around 2 cm (0.79 in) narrower.[4] Overall weight is 1,100 kilograms (2,400 lb).[5]

A second, pre-production prototype is expected to have a monocoque fuselage with a more powerful 220 kilowatts (300 hp) engine.[4][7]

The design was type certified as an aircraft in January 2022 in Slovakia.[1] It also needs approval as a road vehicle before it can be used as such
