I think it is very important for teachers to use the social interactive model as much as possible.

Dividing students up into small groups and having them complete assignments not only teaches them academics, it teaches them cooperation, teamwork, and social skills. It teaches them how to solve problems as a group. Having students participate in group activities is more relatable to real world situations because in jobs people often have to work with co- workers. It teaches them to solve personal problems with their peers in order to get work done. It is important for teachers to monitor carefully in order to make sure one person is not doing all work. Everyone must participate and it is easy to get side tracked during group work.

Cooperative learning is implemented by the teacher and is an opportunity for students to work with one another. There are five elements of cooperative learning which makes it effective, and one of them is interpersonal and small group social skills. This element is important because it emphasizes that students who work with one another develop leadership skills, can communicate, and build trust. With Cooperative learning, it is not all about understanding the subject matter. It is also about teamwork and being able to work with others.

Cooperative learning is when the teacher gives the
students the opportunity to work as a group to achieve a common goal. This
strategy helps students learn responsibility and improve their social skills.
The strategy is a great idea because it helps students improve both academically
and socially. In a video I found the students give their opinion on cooperative
learning groups. A student said they really enjoyed working in groups because
they had the opportunity to compare results with their classmates and see where
they went wrong. Another student said they really enjoyed the fact that they
could debate a topic with other students in their group and classroom. This
strategy should be implemented in many classrooms because it is definitely a
great way to motivate students to strive to do their best.

I love the different ways that cooperative learning really promotes and encourages student learning. I like the social interaction between the students like how they can be put into small groups. Also, it encourages independent learning which is important as all. Personally, I learn better when put into small groups and get to talk about a lesson or task with a few students rather than the teacher trying to teach to the whole class at once. It's a stress free way for students to learn and I would definitely use this method as a teacher.

Cooperative learning is a way for teachers to involve students in the learning process, while giving themselves more of a "back seat" to what is going on. In cooperative learning students work in small groups completing individual and group tasks. Each student is responsible for their own learning, and also are responsible for providing input to their group as well. I really like the cooperative learning model because it gives students experience in problem solving by using resources other than themselves, or the teacher. This is a very authentic type of learning and allows students to develop interpersonal and social skills as well.

Here is a pictorial example of a group of students engaging in cooperative learning. Here they are working together as a group.

I love the jigsaw method! I think it can be extremely beneficial for students. It allows them to work together, combining their ideas with each other and building off of their peers information/knowledge. I love that the teacher is not giving direct instruction neccissaily ; instead they are just monitoring the students, asking questions, and making sure they stay on task. Sometimes I feel like teachers can pressure students without realizing and this method allows the students to share their knowledge without the fear of being judged by an adult.
