My husband and I have one fur baby-a Frenchie named Georgia. We love to travel and explore new places. I am an avid reader & in my off time, I help my sister with her growing floral design business. With that being said, I am very fortunate to have my immediate family close by!

I have worked at BMMS since 2007 (except for one year (2015) when I worked at the DO for two Directors (Superintendent's Office & IT). I had two bosses, two workspaces, on two different floors! But my heart belonged to BMMS and my BMMS family. In addition, I missed having the energy of kids.

I truly enjoy my job!

I also worked at PHS, the Planning Department, SDCOE, San Diego City Schools, and at Harcourt Brace which became Academic Press, and a few other places along the way.

I have a daughter who lives in Brooklyn, NY and was just recently married (12/1/23). She attended PUSD schools from K-12 and graduated from PHS.

I also have fur baby, Zoey, who is 10 years old. Zoey and I love taking walks or hiking, and the beach.

I also love exploring and am out and about frequently checking out hiking trails, coffee shops, restaurants, and the desert.

I enjoy catching a great sunset or even a sunrise (I really do like mornings).

I have a variety of interests including (but not limited to) reading, drawing, watercolor, learning new things, baking, and photography.

I will be taking ukelele classes at the end of this month.

I currently teach both 6th and 8th grade.

I am a single mom of an amazing four year old boy, commuting all the way from Fallbrook so he can have a house with a backyard to play in. He is worth it!

In my free time, I love to do DIY/construction projects, American Ninja Warrior, and any outdoor sports I can.

This year I teach 6th grade Humanities and 7th grade English. It's my 3rd year teaching at BMMS. Previously, I taught at King-Chavez Preparatory Academy for 5 years after earning my teaching credentials with SDSU. While at my previous school, I taught 7th grade English and Social Justice as an elective.

San Diegan born and raised. I'm the 3rd generation of Wilsons to live in Linda Vista. I left SD to attend Sonoma State University for my Bachelor's in English and minor in History. Currently, I'm working on my Master's with SDSU in Social Justice and Critical Literacy.

In my free time, I love to travel, read, try out new restaurants and find new independent bookstores, and cook for my friends and family. I love attending spoken word/slam poetry events, going to afternoon tea, trivia nights, and meeting with my book club once a month.

I own my own home, but I get to rent out rooms to my closest friends. While I don't have my own pets, I get to come home to 3 animals: 2 dogs and a cat. An 85 pound American bulldog named Bandit, a 6 pound Maltese poodle mix named Olly, and a cat who knows she is infinitely superior to us all named Anna. :)

My name is Kelly Logan and I teach 6th Grade Humanities. I have been in education since 1992 where I began in an IA position with SDUSD. I have taught grades K-8 and have found my niche in middle school!🏫

-My husband Cal and I just celebrated 25 years of marriage with a trip to Greece & Croatia. We love to travel, especially with our college aged daughters.✈️

-I have a yellow lab named Luna who is my sunshine and joy. 🐾

-In my spare time I love yoga, hiking, doing puzzles and hanging out with friends and family. I look forward to a wonderful year here at BMMS😃

Education: This is my 3rd year at Black Mountain and in PowayUSD and my 21st year of teaching in Special Education. My first two years at BMMS, I was a PAL program teacher with a sprinkle of Co-teaching 7th-grade Math. This year, I co-teach Math 7 with Mrs. Frangos for 2 periods, co-teach with Mrs. Smith for Social Studies 7, and I teach Learning Strategies. Building relationships with my students and staff brings me the most joy, as well as, seeing my students make progress toward all of their goals.

Personal: I have a soon-to-be 18-year-old son, named Alex. And yes, he is a full 1 foot and 2 inches taller than me. Ha! I also married a Polish guy named Luke. :) Together we lived in Poland for 8 years before returning to the States. Our passions as a family are international food and travel. You will find me on most breaks at various international locations. My most recent travels have taken me to Italy, Dubai, Iceland, Japan, Morocco, and South Africa. This summer our family will be heading to Romania and Poland.

I graduated from SDSU way back in 1995- same year I married that guy up there. Jenna (25) and Jake (21) are still at home with us for now. Jenna is an art major at SDSU and Jake is following his heart to adventure in NYC very soon.

I have 3 wonderful dogs- Guppy, Lyla and Backpack. They keep me busy cleaning dirt and mud off my floors when we aren't playing and snuggling.

I wish I could travel more. Maybe when I retire in a few years....

-Our kids, Maverick (7) and Griffin (5), are in 2nd grade and kindergarten and I can't talk about them without tearing up.

-We adopted a TJ rescue in June 2022 and his name is Hercules (inspired by the dog in the Sandlot). Don't bother asking me what kind of dog he is, because your guess is as good as mine!

This is my 23rd year at BMMS. I was a student here too, so when I started working here, I had the opportunity to teach with some of my own teachers. All of my children have been through BMMS. There was even one year with I had my own sons in my class at the same time (Grayson was a 6th grader and Gregory was in 8th grade - all three of us had ASB together!)

I have worked in the library since I was 15 years old. I started as a Library Page and I shelved books for six years part-time to pay for college. Ironically, my boss encouraged me to go to Librarian School years ago, but I was a know-it -all back then. I attended Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Buffalo. I studied Business and eventually became a Business Teacher and School-to-Work Coordinator for the Rochester City School District. Years later, I returned to graduate school to finally complete a degree in Library Science. It is funny how my first job is my last job working in the library. I have come full circle in my career doing what I love. I am lucky!

In addition, I have been married for 35 years to a really nice man named Gerry who is my best friend. We enjoy travelling and reading. He reads more than I do now. I enjoy audiobooks. We have two adopted adult children who are both in college. We also have a two year-old granddaughter named Ellie. She is a cutie pie. Yes, this grandma is biased. My baby is a maltipoo named Teddy Bear and he is my buddy who takes walks with me. Ellie lives with her parents in Merceded, California. My son Chris lives on the East Coast and attends a small HBC, Shaw University. My daughter Alex has returned to San Franciso State University to finish her college degree. I am praying that she can do it this time around.

Last summer, Gerry and I went to Australia for three weeks in July. We are trying to decide where we want to go this summer. It is time to start enjoying life, and travelling before we are too old.

I still love to read and interact with students and teachers. I love plants and flowers. In my spare time, you can find me outside clipping bushes or caring for my yard.

I Currently co-teach 6th grade math with Brittany Patton and teach 8th grade Math and the 8th grade Math workshop class as well. I am also one of the Math Team leads and the TPLES Trainer/Liaison for BMMS as well as currently serving on the ASPIRE/EQUITY team too. You might also catch me bugging you to join me during the staff talent show dance later this year. ;)

My husband Tyler and I have been married for 4 wonderful years and have 2 beautiful children, Owen (10-4th grader) and Harper (2.5- Diva). We love staying busy and being with friends and family as much as we can. As a family we love music, dancing, travel and the outdoors.

Fun Fact- I will also always be the first one on and last one off of the Dance Floor, especially if the music is good! (I prefer 70's, 80's and Hip-Hop)

I personally love country music (90's is my Jam, I live for some Garth and Reba, but Martina is my Queen. ;) I also love tv shows like Friends, The Office, Schitts Creek and Gilmore Girls but love a good Horror/Mystery/Sci-fi movie as well. I truly enjoy reading and have gotten back into it for pleasure lately with my love of the Blood and Ash series. I have also perfected my Challah recipe over the past year, so anyone who loves a good bread, let me know, I'm your girl!

-Married 29 years to my wife, Julia. She is an adjunct chemistry professor at USD.

-Christopher ( almost 22) will graduate in May from USD (bio-medical engineering)

-Ainsley (19) is a sophomore at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She's studying political science and international relations. She's on the soccer team and is currently spending her Spring semester in Vienna, Austria.

-Koda is our 7 year old golden retriever. I wish he could come to work each day with me.

I enjoy time at the beach, paddle boarding, photography, watching TV, sports, anything Star Wars, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, and traveling. We are planning trips to Vienna, Athens, and possibly London and Portugal later this year.

• Married 35 years to my software engineer husband Chris, and enjoying being empty nesters (well, one dog still at home with us, does that count?)

• We have 3 adult children, all PUSD grads (Midland, TPMS, PHS)

• Emily (28) graduated from UCLA with a degree in Vocal Performance/Opera and is currently working at a creative firm where she able to produce, direct, and write branded video content. She also still sings professionally in her spare time with the LA Master Chorale and other groups. Emily and her fiancee Will live in LA.

• Elizabeth (26) graduated with a Certificate in Child Development from Miramar College, and is currently living in her own apartment and looking for a job as a preschool aide. She is very active with Special Olympic sports, musical theater, and other activities that keep her very busy!

• Sam (24) graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Statistics during Covid and is currently exploring career options that have flexibility and less "office time." Sam dabbled in Real Estate and Insurance, and is currently working as an independent contractor. Sam and his partner Brianna live and work in Davis.

• We are planning our first wedding, happening May 25 this year! Just when you think you've done everything as a parent... something new!

• I love hiking and camping, and we are working to visit all the National Parks. We love Alaska and are planning to visit next Feb break to see the Northern Lights, and to take an extended trip in our trailer to spend 3-4 months there over summer in about 5 years.

My husband, Henri, and I have 3 kids. Our eldest is in her 2nd year at UC Berkeley, while our second daughter is a senior this year and our son is a sophomore at Westview. We also have a fur baby rescue, Flynn, a yellow lab mix that is spoiled rotten.

As a family, we love to travel all over, especially to The Netherlands to visit Henri's family. We also head to Yosemite every summer. I enjoy playing soccer, watching soccer, pickleball, hiking, biking, heading to the theater and NOT cooking.

--After training at SDSU and spending my first two years teaching in San Diego Unified, I moved to China in 2000, and most of my experience (life and professional!) happened there. I worked primarily in English delivery international schools serving foreign executives' children from all over the world following International Baccalaureate curriculum frameworks. Moved back to my hometown of San Diego in 2023 and landed here at Black Mountain.
