Chino's role is the main character and narrator who described his life in spanish harlem. Sapo's role is Chino's best friend and he is known as the tough guy. Blanca is Chino's wife. We learn about the challenges they face in their neighborhood(Spanish Harelm), including issues of crime and poverty. It shows the struggles and dreams of those living in the barrio.
