*Once you have gotten your answer, you put the decimal point too far to the left or too far to the right instead of placing it the amount of how any there is behind the decimal to the left.
*Not adding the zero for the tens place.
*Starting the tens place before finishing the ones place. 
* Not carrying  the new group to the next place value, or carrying the new group but not using it/ignoring it.
*Not writing the problem correctly/lining up the problem incorrectly.
*After multiplying the two place values, you accidentally multiply instead of adding the answers.
* Shifting the decimal too far one way or another.

When you are multiplying decimals  instead of adding up the numbers behind the decimal you just drop down the decimal

You may  shift the decimal one to many
pitfall number three
Instead of starting in the ones place you start in the tens place
pitfall number four
when you have the problem finished instead of multiplying you add the answers 
pitfall number five 
copying the problems down in the wrong order or putting the decimal one place value to the left or the right in the wrong place
pitfall six
when you move to the tens place you forget to add the zero to the tens place(or hundreds, thousands, ect.)
pitfall seven
Forgetting to carry the numbers from the previous 
multiplication sequence so instead of doing
