- Our project began with the topic question above, however I found that as I was analyzing the data more and more question sparked my curiosity.
- Some of these included;
- How far have we taken the idea of unisex shoe
sizes?
- Would Unisex shoe sizes even make sense when
looking at the data collected in our study?

- In order to gather our data for this project/investigation we had to anticipate obtaining some background information on the topic/ participants.
- The needed background information:
- As we dove into thought about just how we needed gather our data it occurred to us that we needed to plan and obtain the gender of the participants in order convert the female shoe sizes to male shoe sizes for accurate comparison when addressing the question of correlation between height and shoe size. (or do we)
- It turned out that some background research came to me. Over the past weekend i actually went to the mall to buy myself some much needed new shoes, and as i got into my car i noticed that on the side of the box was a chart with a bunch of shoe sizes including a unisex shoe size chart. From there on out I knew that this was the universal size that I should use.
(Come to find out that unisex shoe sizes are based on the inches purely)

The Data:

- Once looking at the data converted and graphed on this scatter-plot it is easy to see that they is indeed a positive correlation between height and shoe size.
- The graph clearly depicts that as students get taller, that there shoes usually do get bigger.

Conclusions:

- Our original question has been answered revealing that there is in fact a correlation between height and shoe size, but what about our question regarding the validity of the US switching to a unisex shoe sizing system?
- I was going to break this down even further and find the means of both the male and female shoe sizes and compare them, but when looking at the data all together with the shoe sizes converted into inches (for unisex sizing) and the range is already minimal enough. In fact it is only 2.96 inches. This lead me to the conclusion that a unisex shoe size would be suitable.
