Brooke, I really appreciated the common language of add, delete, substitute, and reorder for students and teachers. I also loved the use of students looking at the original paper as a group and also the revised paper as a group. Such powerful work in revising that I will definitely be able to bring into my classroom! Thank you!

Thank you, Brooke! Teaching revision is one of the areas I've always wanted to improve in my own teaching. Additionally, many of my students (90% are international) haven't had the peer review and revision practice they need. This will be very helpful for me to put into practice.

This was so helpful! I have often struggled with teaching revision and helping students improve their writing. I love that this puts the students in charge and helps them determine what to change on their own. I can't wait to try this next year with my classes (even if it's at a distance) .

From Eileen: I appreciated the categorization of revisions. I like working with categories and similar organizational principles, although I know there's a danger of oversimplifying; however, as I thought about all the revisions I comment on in student papers, those four categories just about cover it.

Loved that, Brooke! Students must be explicitly taught how to revise and how to respond to the writing of others, and this lesson does both beautifully. It could be revisited throughout the year in writing groups when students review their peers' work as well. Definitely using!
- Jamie

This teaches students how to REALLY revise (not just edit) and gives them a common academic vocabulary. I love how many ways you had your students interact with each other and the text! Love you, Brooke! -Bob

That's an awesome way to share their ideas and work!
Question: How does this work with EL and SpEd students? What kind of modifications do you make? The ability of a new comer to read and understand and contribute would be very limited, as with SpEd students with certain processing issues. So...how do you work with that kind of differentiation.
