I’m so glad to have met a lot of great people this year in all state. That, alongside with Dr. Snow, my short experience with being in All State ended in the best way I could imagine.

This has been my favorite choir of all time! I'm so happy I got to make music with such wonderful people :). I hope everyone also had a good time and that those who are able to audition do it! I'm sad this was my last All State choir yet I'm content since it was one of the best choirs I got to participate in. Thank you so much to everyone for making this experience wonderful!

All State Choir was AWESOME! I made lots of new friends and had an amazing time. I especially loved singing Plena in JHS SSAA (Very Zesty 😁) The rehearsals were very long, but the hard work paid off. The auditorium was extremely colossal and beautiful. I hope I get selected next year and meet all my new friends. Thank you all! YAS!!!! :D

From only participating in a school choir for years to advancing to the state level was truly amazing. All State was such a memorable time for me and I met some incredible people there. The skill level is unmatched, and you could tell that everyone around you shared the same talents and skills like you. Truly had a memorable time and I'm excited to return next year. I 100% recommend anyone to do this

As a graduating senior, I was so happy to be able to finish off my all state journey in one of the best choirs I’ve ever been in.

In HS SATB, both Dr. Snow and all of our chaperones & manager were so welcoming and made the space one that was fun to be in and engaging. The community I built with the people around me, from my roommates to the people who sat next to me in rehearsal to random people I just met, has made this year an excellent cap to my HS choir journey and has reinvigorated my decision to keep singing in chour even as I’m not pursuing it professionally

All-State Honor Choir is truly an amazing experience where you can grow not only in your musicianship, but as a person as well. If it feels scary or intimidating, that’s actually a good thing—stepping outside of your comfort zone is when real growth and maturity happen. It’s incredibly fun, from meeting new people to learning new music, and it’s genuinely a life-changing experience. I plan to do it again next year for my senior year, but I wish I had tried out sooner! 😁

JHS SSAA this year was so fun and amazing! The choir was filled with such talented singers and such kind people. I got to reunite with some friends in different schools and I got to meet new friends too! Our director was so nice and funny. I'm very proud of our hard work and phenomenal performance. I hope to have more years of great All State experiences going forth!

All State was such an incredible experience that I can’t recommend more to any and all interested singers. Hearing the whole choir join together and sing the very first time was a truly magical experience and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it. Everyone was super friendly and it was an overall phenomenal experience.

To me, this was one of the best singing experiences i’ve ever had. for the past couple of years i have been singing through a school choir, and i had always felt that i was the one carrying my section and having to do the work of hitting all the high notes. But this year when i came to all state, by the time we finished our first warm up i knew this was going to be different. everyone sang just as loud and powerful as me. i was amazed to be surrounded by such talented singers. i also think that it is so cool to contribute to making such beautiful sounds and music, with other people who love to sing just as much as i do. this year of 2026 all state was incredible, and i only hope to make it next year.

This was my 2nd year at All State and it was genuinely one of the best three days I have experienced. Last year I was in SSAA and being in SATB this year was a whole new experience. After hearing the tenors and basses for the first time I was at a loss of words because they sounded so good ✨ Dr. Cossey was so energetic and made me more confident in moving around during our songs and using facial expressions. Even when I was tired her positive energy made me forget about it. Mr. Chicas and Mr. Salvador made rehearsals also really fun and my favorite parts of JHS SATB's concert was when they danced during "Temporal" and sang during "Lovely Day." Thank you choir dads! Our dance party "homework" we had the first night made me more comfortable around my roommates 🥹 I loved and appreciated every moment of singing with such a talented group of people sharing the same passion as me. It felt so nice to be in a choir where everybody really wanted to be there and was committed because at school I always felt that there were people who were just there to get an "easy A". Everyone was so sweet and friendly and it was really easy to make new friends 🫶 Thank you for everyone who made All-State so amazing! Whether or not you end up getting in, I think it's worth a shot to audition, because All-State is genuinely such a wonderful experience. 💗 Definitely will audition next year!!!

Fourth and final year

This was my fourth and final year at California All State Honor Choir. Ever since I first auditioned and went in 2023 I found a community that was diverse and beyond welcoming. Though I will considerably miss the experience of rehearsing for long hours and interacting with all my peers, I hope to continue finding friendship and joy through singing in college. Thanks to all my roommates for being with me on this journey and a special thanks to Dr. Jefferson Johnson, Dr. Julie Yu, Dr. Edryn Coleman, and Dr. Sandra Snow for teaching me priceless lessons.

All State Was, In all sincerity, one of if not the best experience of my life. I went into it uncertain if i was going to be Alone, But everyone there made me feel Welcome and respected.

People like Carlos and dustin made me feel seen and The Choir Dads made everything feel more energetic and exciting.

But the person that made me feel welcome and respected was Mrs. Cossey. Mrs Cossey Made me feel more confident in myself and I know that everyone else in that room was more confident after she said that she was going to be the silliest in the room.

i didn't know about this choir until this year, and safe to say it's amazing. thank you dr. cossey for being the weirdest person in the room, and thank you choir dads for making everything so much fun! also thank you chaperones for your hard work and thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone in the choir for being so welcoming and inclusive! i've definitely been inspired after attending all state, and i hope i can come back next year!

to those wondering if they should do it next year, YES!! do it, you won't regret it (hopefully)! you'll make lots of new friends, have fun with old friends, and get the chance to do what we all love- singing.

everyone is so so so talented, and i wish for the best in everyone's singing journey! again, thank you so much for the fun 3 days i had!

Allstate this year was so much fun! I love how Dr. Cossey was so full of energy and able to get us to sing well even after a whole day of singing. Overall, it was a really fun experience. Thank you so much Dr. Cossey!!

as it now becomes my third year coming here, i grateful to say that this was one of the best years i’ve had in all state! being in SATB was a complete game changer from being in SSAA the last two years. i loved all the people, and friends ive made along the way! kudos to dr. cossey for always being the silliest person in the room, she always managed to make us all feel safe and welcomed, even when a couple of us were a little scared. since it is my 8th grade year, i hope that in the upcoming years ill continue singing at all state, possibly in the high school choirs!! thank you for all the adults, staff, and chaperones for making all state a safe and fun experience for everyone! 🫶

for anyone even considering doing it next year, i will advise you to 100% do it!! all state is an opportunity to sing with those who are at ur level, if not higher, and you are able to make friends in a community that has the same passion as you! all state choir will always be the highlight of my year, i hope ill be able to come again next year!

Participating in a choir of this caliber truly made me realize that I am so much more capable than I thought I was. This experience was truly such an amazing growth for myself. Everyone that I met, and even reconnected with, were all so kind and welcoming. I never felt like I could not talk to somebody here. This was my first and final year of doing All State as well. This experience also made me realize how much choir meant to me. My roommates were amazing, and the skills that I learned from my director are not only things that will stick with me as a musician, but life lessons that I will keep in my pocket forever. This experience truly made me feel like a much more confident and skilled singer, as long as a more confident and stronger person than I was before. Thank you All-State!! I hope we all meet again soon <3

My first year in All-State and I was in JHS SSAA and I really enjoyed it. Shoutout to Mr. Valenzuela for being the bestest chaperone for the Labubus (Gnarly!), and for being just a fun person. It was so fun to be singing for hours on end (I actually wish I could do that more) surrounded by people passionate about choir. Thank you to Dr. Babb for being an awesome director, and thank you to my roommates for putting up with my obsessions. Thank you to the people who stood and sang next to me, thank you to all the people who helped us along the way to be able function and have things move smoothly as possible in these past few days.

Singing Shadow River, One Song, and No Ways Tired were the english songs we sang, and ones I looked most forward to be hearing and singing live. Plena, I had performed only a month prior to all-state, so that was really fun to sing again, and Suscepit Israel was always hard to pronounce the title. Singkap Siaga started out as a less liked song but it grew on our choir as we added the deceptively simple looking body percussion and added all the parts together. I loved the selections of the songs, and I will keep the music for as long as I can.

It was very fun to sing in the bathroom and the stairs that were in the building where we rehearsed, with people from all over the state, strangers brought together in the pursuit of a collaborative art where each part is a vital piece in the puzzle. I truly hope everyone enjoyed this amazing experience and I can only hope to be able to experience this another time.

I can only thank everyone involved in making this experience as wonderful as possible once again, and I hope to be able to sing with you all again in the future :DD

My daughter was in SATB this year as an 8th grader and enjoyed the experience. So much talent and passion for choir in everyone involved. Thankfully, we saw our future high school choir teacher there, so we get to try and come back for a 3rd year next year!

I had an amazing time! The music was amazing, the basses were absolutely mind blowing, and it was just so wonderful to sing in a choir with a bunch of seriously talented people. I will certainly miss singing songs like “Next Stop,” and I will forever cherish the experience! Being in this choir as a freshmen was just an absolute blessing. I hope to see everyone there next year!

I'm so grateful to have been able to experience such a life-changing musical moment in my life called All-State choir. In my school, no one really sang their parts out loud and didn't have much passion for music, they only cared about getting their music requirements filled in. However, when I came here, I was blown away. Everyone here was AMAZING an actually cared about their craft and knew that music could bring everyone together. This was the first time I heard a REAL tenor-bass section and altos that actually sang instead of lip-syncing. My fellow sopranos were so incredibly talented that every single time they sang I had to resist the urge of screaming CLOCK IT at the top of my lungs. Dr. Cossey, being the best conductor she is, was always the weirdest person in the room and made every song we performed have a special place in my heart. Our choir dads, Mr. Salvador and Mr. Chicas were SLAYING in Temporal and Lovely Day, and constantly sent us Remind messages to give us well-needed updates and info. I loved how we would all sing and belt our lungs out at 7 am in the bus and how no one would actually judge someone for it. Overall, this was an amazing experience, and I made so many new friends! 100% going to audition again next year!!

This was my first year in Honors Choir and definitely not my last. This was a wonderful experience that helped me learn and grow for my musical journey. I am very proud to have a chance to be apart of this amazing community of singers.

At first, the new environment was scary, but eventually everything began to warm up when I saw how kind people there were. Everyone was honestly so supportive and sweet about everything.

Again, this was a great opportunity for me as a singer. I hope to come back next year!

Being able to participate in this year’s all state was truly such a rewarding experience! Being surrounded by amazing singers who share the same enjoyment and passion for singing and making music together is what really makes all state such a memorable experience. Although undergoing many hours of practice sounds tedious at first, the rehearsal hours went by super quickly and I had such a fun time. I am so grateful to be able to make new friends and meet new people this year. Although it is my last year in JHS, my past years in all state are definitely core memories that I will always remember!

This is my second year in high school allstate (and any allstate lol). It feels so magical so meet and work with so many people that have the same passion as me!! As the only girl from my school for the last two years, Im actually always a little scared of being thrown into this new environment. Yah I really didn't need to worry. Everyone was super nice and friendly, everything (except the dinner on Friday😡 _{jk it was okay}) ran smoothly, my roommates were super SUPER VERY AMAZINGLY FUN AND MY NEW AND OLD FRIENDS AS WELL OMG BRUH IM SO HAPPY HELP.

I GOT TO SIT NEXT TO MY FRIEND FROM LAST YEAR MAYBE THAT WAS DESTINY AND HAD REALLY REALLY AMAZING ROOMMATES CHAPERONES AND CONDUCTOR OMG HELP IS THIS REAL???????????

Also I really like my conductor _o WOW she was so helpful and nice and funny and I love all the songs she chose omg bruh they are all phenomenal in different ways omg omg OMG. Lowkey I was not at my best for the performance but I still learned so much and yes 10/10 would recommend.

this was my first year of casmec as a 7th grader and it was literally the best experience ever. i got to meet so many new and talented singers just like me, and i had so much fun! i am so grateful to have experienced something that amazing. i could not believe how amazing the tenors and bases sounded compared to my school. i wanted to say the biggest thank you to my amazing conductor, dr. alyssa cossey. you truly made this a great experience. you taught me many techniques and thank you for inspiring me to keep singing and working hard. another big thank you to the choir dads, mr. chicas and mr. salvador, you guys did so good with dancing on temporal and singing on lovely day. thank you to the chaperones for taking care our our health and safety, it is truly appreciated. i felt so proud walking through the hallways of sac state with my casmec badge, because i knew that i earned this experience with my hard work. if you are ever doubting to tryout, i suggest you should, because honestly it is literally the best. i will remember and cherish every moment of it, and i hope to come back next year.
