         <description><![CDATA[<div>Darmo Hospital was made in 1897 and was there when the war with Indonesia and the Dutch. The Dutch ruled that hospital and ruled Indonesia. Darmo Hospital was founded by a group of Dutch people and led by HJ. OFFERHAS on June 9, 1897. During the Japanese government, they changed this hospital into a workshop to repair heavy weapons like swords, vehicles such as tanks, and a lot more! The Japanese also made it an internment camp for children and women.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

The place was there when it was the time and place where the war started. The hotel was founded in 1910, and It opened in 1911. At first, this hotel became one of the hotels for the Dutch elite who lived in Surabaya or who were visiting the City of Heroes.</div>]]></description>

         <title>1293 - Suro and Boyo Statue</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The name of Surabaya is delivered from the symbol of the city, a shark (Suro) fighting with a crocodile (Boyo). There are many myths explaining how the name of Surabaya came to exist. The most commonly accepted is that of a prophecy from a 12th Century king, Jayabaya who foresaw a fight between a large white shark and a large white crocodile. Suro and Boyo statue is a shark &amp; crocodile tussling amid seaweed. It was decided that May 31, 1293, was the anniversary of Surabaya. That date has been taken under an agreement established by many historians that Governor Surabaya. Surabaya words derived from the word “sura ing baya” which means “the courage to confront the danger” is taken from the Mongol armies had been beaten by the army led bu Establishments Raden Wijaya May 31.1293.</div>]]></description>
