I enrolled in this course because I believe it would be valuable just to process some of the elements of the past year of remote / hybrid learning that were often chaotic and uncomfortable. Since we did not see colleagues in person it was a different kind of experience to reach out for help and to discuss our experiences as they were happening. My intention for this course is to come away with some nuggets of valuable information regarding virtual learning and the connection to others with our shared experiences from the trauma of the last year.
Joanne Casale

1. How do you predict this course might be valuable to you? I highly value time for reflection, as it is so important and known to improve practice, however, is often skipped over. The value in this course, in my mind, comes from the dedicated time to reflect and connect with other educators. This is especially true because the last year- year and a half of teaching was so difficult, it would be mentally less challenging to forget about it and move on! However, I recognize the importance of finding the good components and putting them in my pocket for the future.
2. What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course? An intention for this course is to find an appropriate work-life balance. My goals for this class are to connect with and hear from other educators who have just been through a similar experience, and to find, understand, and make a plan to utilize (or continue to utilize) virtual learning strategies in my classroom, whether I am teaching in person or remotely. It is my belief that many online learning opportunities (resources, tools, etc) are going to be helpful in the year(s) to come.

How do you predict this course might be valuable to you? Having been primarily an instructor in the classroom with some online teaching experiences in the past I am interested in learning what current strategies can help students the most in their learning in a remote setting. Learning about effective strategies that can be used to teach remotely I will be able to improve my knowledge, skills and abilities as a educator. Every training has valuable pieces of information that can contribute to our professional development and I think this is a great opportunity for us.

What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course? My intentions/goals are to learn the course content, successfully participate in the various activities and learn about what works and doesn’t work from peers throughout the state. Peers reflecting on their experiences over the last 18 plus months provides insights that will help in our overall development as educators. Additionally, I am looking to learn about the current technologies and resources that educators are using since technology changes so quickly. (and yes, I have never used padlet so I've already learned something new!) Lastly, I intend on strengthening my network of peers to connect with.

1. How do you predict this course might be valuable to you?

I believe this course is going to be helpful to me because I’m not currently working with a school district. From what I’ve experienced so far I think that I am going to have many opportunities to work with other NH educators. The readings and interactions with others have shown that I am going to greatly increase my knowledge of remote teaching. I believe that I am going to end this 5 week course with new strategies and ideas on how to implement a remote learning program/class. I have already read many great ideas in the benefit section and comments from the last activity. This course is going to better prepare me for when I renter into the classroom.

2. What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course?

When I signed up for this course I wasn’t entirely sure what I should expect. After seeing the layout and assignments I’ve learned that my intentions for this course are to gain as much knowledge around remote learning as possible. I not only want to learn about how it works but what resources are out there to continue my learning after this course is over. One of my goals is to learn what online resources and programs are available to use with students. Another is to continue to connect with other teachers and learn from their experiences teaching virtually, in the classroom and even doing both. I’m hopeful their stories will help make me a better teacher when it comes to remote learning. Lastly, I see myself wanting to learn how to make my lesson plans for in person teaching but also being able to alter them to remote learning if needed.

1. How do you predict this course might be valuable to you?
All reflection is valuable, but the true value of this course should center on how it will inform my future practice. Online learning will increasingly displace in-person learning moving forward, as part of a hybrid model or otherwise. Learning from experience is key, and we all should reflect on our successes and failures over the past year, but learning from others is equally important. I hope the course will provide that perspective, and that I'll learn successful approaches that I may not have come up with on my own.

2. What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course?
1) To build a toolbox of best practices for online teaching that I can dip into now and in the future. 2) To reflect on my practices over the past year. 3) To carry forward the best of those practices--gleaned from my own experiences and those of others in this course--into the physical classroom. 4) To collaborate with other educators in the interest of providing my students with the best possible education online.

I think that this course will be very beneficial to me. My skills with utilizing online resources in my lessons is very limited. The k-1 population I work with is very hands on and so I usually lean towards hands on play based lessons. I now know that incorporating online resources will only benefit my students. These are skills they will need in the future and any exposer I can give them will help. I predict that this course will help me learn about different online resources and how to effectively incorporate them in my lessons.

How do you predict this course might be valuable to you? I am always on the look out for new practices and information to improve my teaching techniques and to add to the list of resources that have the potential to increase my, student, and paraeducator proficiency. Classmates and instructors always have added to my skill repertoire so when it was announced that 4000 NH educators would be a participating in one of these courses, I viewed this class as an excellent opportunity to acquire and practice tech related skills.

What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course? My intentions are to pay close attention to posts that suggest other NH educators have discovered apps and techniques that inspire student learning as well as to examine and research the efficiency of suggestions that come through course resources. My intentions are to try out this material and decide whether incorporating them into my repertoire of tricks will create unique/motivating learning opportunities for my students of all ages.

I love having the opportunity to collaborate and share what has worked well for so many other teachers and I truly appreciate the honesty people are sharing. I am constantly learning which is exciting and although this journey has a lot of unknowns I feel comfort knowing I am not alone.

What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course?

My goal for this class is to be able to gain increased knowledge of what’s considered best practice and confidence to be able to deliver curriculum and assessment in an engaging and authentic way.

How do you predict this course might be valuable to you?

There were many parts of remote I struggled with, especially with being unique in my approaches. I found that once I found something that worked, I stayed with that method and did not vary too much. I am hoping to learn new strategies from other people, as well as the course.

Intentions/goals:

I hope to not cringe when I hear remote learning anymore. I hope I learn new strategies for engagement. I teach mostly one-on-one, so I tend to not have to worry about classroom management, but my online students are still distracted by their own technology and their phones. How can I help them?

How do you predict this course might be valuable to you?

I feel like the most valuable part of this course is going to be taking the time to reflect on remote learning. Honestly, I have not processed the remote learning we just completed yet I know there is every chance we could encounter remote learning again. Reflecting on our experience, ideally will help to highlight the things that went well and we should keep from remote learning as well as the things that need improvement.

What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course?

I hope to learn several" best practices" for remote and online learning -specifically for elementary school. I hope that this course will help me be prepared for future remote learning opportunities.
