The research that I carried out today is the historical research of stop-motion. There, I research the evolution of stop-motion with the help mod wikipedia and youtube to view what each film I spoke about in specific detail to see what they was like. Secondly, I completed research on the educational TV adverts and indents. There, I researched the different types channels such as Boomerang and companies such as O2. I explained in specific detail on what skills did they use and how did it make the ident / advert effective as well as professional. I have also completed a summary of the research that I have carried out so far this week. I explained in detail also using the key terminology about the overall result of the research and also what effect has it been for me to help make my idea more interesting and effective for the client. I also completed an animation experiment today were I tested the wire body construction technique, which will allow me to have flowing movement for the plasticine body and also so remove the head, legs and body to help with the movement of the character without breaking the plasticine. 

The areas where I found that I felt confident was with the research, I carried out professional research to help me with the overall planning of the final project, the ident. I have also felt confident with the animation experiment that I carried out. I showed the different test and the characters that I created over the weekend with the materials that I bought during the weekend as well. I also completed three separate analysis based on the three different surveys that I completed during the week and weekend. I analysed the character survey, my focus group and my vox-pop. I created graphs to show the different percentages and popularity on the characters throughout the survey. In the focus group analysis, I listened through the audio recording and I talked about what each person said and how was is useful for me. I also done this for the vox-pop analysis, but every person (three people) who completed this survey said similar answers. We have decided to make the animation out of a paper, so it looks like the drawings are moving, by taking one shot and then layering the pieces of paper over each other to make it look like the figure / objects on the piece of paper is moving in a fluent movement. We done a variety of test by looking at the different scenes, shots and camera angles on the storyboard. Jake was the camera man; myself, ashley and some other students in the animation room where conducting the different movements and actions which was stated on the storyboard that Jake created. Megan was telling us on what to do by looking at the storyboard. Jake filmed this all of his phone and he edited the shots on iMovie and then uploaded it onto Youtube. I was given the task to re-do the logo due to the fact that it looked to compacted and it didn't looked professional. I then went on Photoshop and I made a new logo which looks more appealing and professional. After lunch, Jake went onto the task on the drawings of the characters so we are ready for our animation after the client pitch on the 15/11/2016. jake estimated that our 20 - 30 second ident would need approximately 120 drawings. Megan was placing all of the old drawings that jake created and creating an testing experiment where she uploaded the picture onto her laptop and editing them onto final cut so we can see on what would be the best speed, formate and placement for the animation. Today was a real success as we shown true professional in our work and we work together as a team professionally to get this far before we start animating. We currently do not need to improve on anything at the moment as we are working at a pace / speed / rhythm which we are able to complete all of our targets. The only improvement that I would make on our team is that I think that Jake hasn't realised that we haven't done the audience feedback; such as questionnaires. Megan completed the survey and we have posted it onto Facebook and shade it between herself, myself and Jake so we have a wide and large range of people answering our survey. We will analysis the results after half-term and then we will add those results onto our pitch PowerPoint. Megan is currently checking over the Powerpoint, making amends and then writing up the pitch script for us to rehearse so we are ready for our pitch on the 15/11/16. Jake made an animation of the son and mother hugging, it was a long process but the results are very positive. There are no improvements for this day. This have given us another day of hard-working in a team in a professional way and this has effected our development positively as we are now almost ready to present our pitch to our clients before the 15/11/16 deadline, we are confident that all of our professional and affective research will make us be the chose ident and our animation will be a success after when we make it before christmas; after the pitch. I came up with the idea of the safe being shown in a panning camera view rather than the safe just in the one image / background and not moving. I though of this ideas as I thought that it would make our animation in the ident more effective and professional as well as creative. I drew 18 - 20 different images of the safe and the start of small and then they come large. I used the graphic drawing technique of two-point-spective to help em to draw the angle of the safe as it is before it turns to be just the front of the safe. Jake was creating the animation for the first shot which is the young man walking barefooted. Megan was drawings and scanning the tree roots. I drew a large number of shots of the safe in different angles and positions and it completed the overall shot scene of the panning of the safe. This was very affective as it shows that we as a group are very creative and affective in working as a group. This section of the TV ident will grab the target audiences attention as it shows a creative shot of an object and it will make it more creative; therefore, making the Tv ident eye-catching. I made the outlines clear and also made all of the colours the same throughout. Jake told me the colours that he wanted the safes to be, the colour that we have chosen is a grey/blue, this will appeal to the target audience as we have used the survey results to help us to choose an appropriate colour for our safe; as 35% chose the colour blue as an appropriate colour. I drew out the full tree so it would be easier for me to create all of the images of the tree growing. What I done was I coloured in the full image of the tree and then erased parts of the tree. When placed together in the right order, it will look like the tree is growing. I created 68 PNG files. The colours that I have chosen for the tree are different shades of brown, this will be appealing and appropriate for our target audience as it is bright and it doesn't make the tree look depressing and dull. It was a long process but I completed the task. Jake has been animating the sequence of the mum and son hugging each other. Magen has been collating all of mine and jakes and her drawings together to make they full animation of our final product. Next lesson, I will be going through the logo information and crewing the creative formate that the information will appear at the end of the animation. I also had to retype of telephone number as there an error and also to change the colour of the words (telephone number and company website) to the colour of the logo. This would be appealing to the company and also the target audience as it will match the companies logo colour and it will also be bright and it would make the words / information clear enough for the target audience to read it. We completed the whole of the animation today, this was a huge achievement for us as it truly shows on what a hardworking team we are. We have completed it a long way before the deadline as well as completing it before all of the other groups. It shows that we are more of a professional working team than the other groups. We have spent the last two / three weeks on the drawing and we have edited for the past week; and the final product is really professional and I'm very happy on the result and very happy on working with Megan and Jake, they have been a pleasure tom work along side with and we are a really good working team. We tried to ask people around the college, but due to an encounter which made jake annoyed and also Megan and Jake not being very confident in asking "strangers", we didn't ask anyone but we will conduct focus groups or vox-pops with embers of our family as jake says that he will be more conformable with that and Megan also agreed with this. This is a good but a bad idea also as it isn't professional and it could affect our final mark due to the fact that we haven't asked people that we don't know; but at the end of the day, at least we will have feedback for our final piece. I explained on what the individual said and how could we use his feedback to make the ident / advert better if we done this unit again. I then completed a document which explains on what did we do with the feedback that we got from Cliff and Tom. I explained on what they said and also on what did we do to our ident with the help of their feedback. Jake conducted an analysis on his survey and we got a large number of responses on his survey. Megan created the credits for the end of the ident / advert, this would make it more appealing to the client and the target audience as they would be able to see and find out on who made the ident / advert and also to see on what roles did each person did. We met the clients brief as our final product meets all of their requirements, it is positive and it shows about on what work do they do to make sure that families are feeling safe in a professional, high standards and target audience friendly manor. The only issue that we had was creating a focus group, this is because Jake and Megan aren't confident. I conducted a vox-pop last night and Jake created a survey. I have finished the first term, event though it has been hard and stressful with other issues, I have managed to completed it professionally and affectively. Throughout this unit, I have worked to a high standard and I have shown my tutor that I can work effectively in a production team. I have also shown that I can conduct a large amount of valid research which I can use to my advantage on making a film / animation.
