I also really enjoy this book because I was entertained and learned a lot. It's extremely slow, but you can definitely tell that the author spent a lot of time developing the world and characters. One thing that gets annoying very quickly is what the author chooses to describe and not. It feels like he is constantly ranting about 'The Spice' and that it's 'so important' but it doesn't become important until over 100 pages in. Secondly, other things are just never elaborated on. I think that the author (Frank Hebert) did not know what details people would remember (THE SPICE) and what they needed to be reminded of. All in all, I really enjoy this book but it is not very concise.
