The book I am reading is called Bystander written by James Preller. 
This book is about a seventh grade boy name Eric who starts to become friends with this really bad kid named griffin. Griffin would be betting someone up and Eric would want to say something but he couldn't because he thought that griffin was his friend. So he would just stand there watching but none of it was his fault. He has been trying to think of a way to stop being friends with him without becoming the victim.

 I think it was a words of the wiser when griffin said to Eric you should just give me the basketball to keep so that nobody gets hurt. I think that because Griffin who is older than him was the one telling him.And griffin was kind of threatening Eric because what he was really was trying to say was if you don't give me the basketball your going to get really hurt.

I think there is a contrast and contradiction in my book called Bystander written by James Preller. When Eric just wouldn't give Griffin the basketball. I think that because Eric has always been on Griffins side. I feel like if the two of Griffins friends didn't hover over Eric when
