This year marks my thrilling debut as a solo CHA instructor, and I'm bursting with anticipation for this educational journey. For the past nine years, I've been navigating the exhilarating (and occasionally chaotic) landscape of a med-surg unit as a registered nurse. When I'm not decoding medical mysteries, you can usually find me binge watching captivating documentaries, wielding with a glue gun, and also planning my next Halloween extravaganza. My family – those wonderful chaos agents – are the reason for my motivation and drive with a little crazy! Let's make this an unforgettable learning experience!

I've enjoyed my nursing school journey so far, although there has been a lot of long days/nights. I'm awaiting clearance to take the NCLEX for LPN. I'll be stepping down from my role as a Nursing Home Administrator, which I'm VERY excited about. I enjoy my 5am CrossFit classes-our group is great! I like bike rides and doing work around my house. I've recently started listening to audiobooks, mostly because when I sit down to read a book, I fall asleep. Ha! I like getting together with my friends, who are mostly all nurses. I like cooking and baking. I'm originally from Michigan, and I've in lived in Wisconsin for almost 10 years. You'll hear me before you see-if you know, you know. I have a little Maltese dog named Benny that's my best buddy. The residents like when I bring him to work and will miss him a lot! I'm ready to tackle another semester. I completed the LPN program in December and passed the PN NCLEX. I have not worked in healthcare yet-so I get a little nervous about how all these classes fit together. I am doing the ADN program part time so I can still have time for our busy family of 7. I am hoping to work in a clinic and/or mental health and possibly continuing on for a master's degree (maybe an MPH). I really like educating about preventative healthcare and mental health. In my spare time, if there is such a thing during nursing school, I enjoy being outside at our cabin with our family or traveling in our RV to national parks. We are a military family and really value the times we can be together since it is not always possible. I am excited to see where this next step in nursing leads me. My support system is terrific-my husband and 5 kids are always cheering me on and helping me study. They are my reason for starting this new career path.

I have experience in phlebotomy and got to the end of my M.A program years ago when the instructor asked me why I wasn't in the nursing program. At that time, my son was little and the timing wasn't right but I knew I wanted to be a nurse. My son is now 10yrs old and I had my "Ah ha" moment about a year ago and said to myself it's now or never! I opted to dive in full time and am so glad I pushed myself to finally pursue it and am so proud of all my fellow students for choosing this field, I'm rooting for you all!
