Alison read the note, smiled, and immediately put on her coat. It was written on the paper her grandmother used years ago. It said: “Come to the attic. Bring the key”. That was strange because her grandmother had passed away last winter, and Alison had been the only one to inherit the old house.

The attic door creaked open. Dust flew all over the room. She turned the key in a small wooden chest that she never dared to open before. Inside there were letters, tied together with a faded blue ribbon.

Feeling curious, she read the first one. It was addressed to her, but dated twenty years before she was born. The words told stories of adventures, love, and choices her grandmother had made… and the final line: “If you’re reading this, it’s your turn to live without fear.”

Alison sat there for a long moment. The note wasn't a ghostly message, it was a plan, one that her grandmother had left for her to discover when she was ready.

Smiling, she put the key in her pocket and said to herself, “It is.”

Alison read the note, smiled, and immediately put on her coat.
It said, “Find the red box under the bridge. Don’t tell anyone!” The handwriting was her cousin Leo’s. He loved creating small adventures every summer.

The morning was sunny, and Alison rode her bike to the old bridge near the forest. She looked around and finally saw a small red box hidden behind some rocks. Inside was a map, drawn by hand, with a big X in the middle. “Typical Leo,” she laughed and started following the trail.

After walking through trees and crossing a stream, she found a glass jar buried in the sand. Inside were some photos of their last summer trip and a small note: “Adventure complete! Ice cream’s waiting at home.”

Alison grinned and ran back. Leo was already there with two melting cones. They laughed, remembering how every summer felt like a little treasure hunt.

Alison read the note, smiled, and immediately put on her coat. She had just woken up after a long night, when she noticed the note on the mirror.

The note said, "Drive your car to Redwood forest", curious, she drove there, where her friend Justin was waiting with the ancient-looking key. They drove to the haunted house and used the key to unlock the door. It seemed that no one had lived here for over 50 years, and they didn't know what was awaiting them. "Alison look, there's a treasure under the floor" Justin said, they dug up and found there was a chest full of gold and diamonds, but behind them there was a shadow. They quickly realized what was happening and ran to the door, but unfortunately the door had locked and the shadow kept reaching them, but there was a familiar laugh echoed through the room "Ha ha, didn't you realize me?" Harry said.

It was their friend Harry, again. He had planned all of this just to prank his friends, but this made both Justin and Alison feel annoyed and a little scared.

Alison read the note, smiled, and immediately put on her coat. The note said " follow the light at the end ". She walked to the old lighthouse near the sea. The night was dark and silent, but she felt that this was the place she needed to go. When she entered, she noticed a small box on the floor. Inside was another note, written in a secret code that looks like morse code. Alison spent a while trying to solve the code. It said :" hello?, you are so lucky to have received this secret, but your real gift is not money, diamonds or some treasures, it is the light you bring to others". She looked out at the sea and turned on the old lamp in the light house. Slowly, a soft light appeared through the fog **the light at the end** , and the secret finally became clear: the thing that saved many sailors

from death on the vast sea!

Alison read the note, smiled, and quickly put on her coat.
It said, “Follow the trail of cookies.” Weird, but Alison was used to that — Lucy, her roommate, was never normal.

Crumbs lined the hallway, down the stairs, out the door, and into the park. Alison followed them, laughing to herself, feeling like the detective of some dessert mystery.

At the end of the trail stood a picnic table covered in fairy lights, a half-melted candle, and a cake that read: “Sorry for eating your food.” Lucy peeked out from behind a bush, holding two plastic forks.

“Truce?” she said.

Alison burst out laughing. “You baked a cake just for that?”

“Baking helps me feel less guilty,” Lucy shrugged.

They sat down, eating and giggling while watching squirrels fight over crumbs. Alison thought forgiveness really was sweet — especially with extra sprinkles.

It said only one thing: “The clock strikes eight. Don’t be late.”

Outside, fog covered the streets. Alison followed the directions on the back of the note, which led her to the old train station — closed for years. The gate was half open. Inside, everything was silent except for a faint ticking sound.

She walked toward an enormous clock standing in the middle of the hall. Suddenly, the clock hands began to spin wildly. A hidden door slid open behind it, revealing a room filled with glowing gears and strange machines.

Ben, her best friend, appeared wearing goggles. “Welcome to Project Time,” he said. “We’re building a time machine.”

Alison’s eyes widened. This wasn’t just another game. It was the beginning of an adventure that could change everything.

And when the clock struck eight, the world around them began to move backward.

Alison read the note, smiled, and immediately put on her coat.
The message said only: “Old bridge. 7 p.m.” Just those words were enough to pull her out into the cold evening. She hadn’t seen him for months. They stopped talking after a silly argument that grew too big. Yet her heart had never really let him go. The bridge appeared through the mist, and there he was, waiting. He looked up, hopeful, like he feared she wouldn’t come.

“I missed you,” he said quietly. Alison took a breath, the memories rushing back. Their laughter. Their promises. The way he always made her feel safe. He held out a small locket with their photo inside. “Can we try again?” His voice trembled. She felt tears but smiled anyway. “I never stopped wanting that.” His hand slid into hers, warm despite the cold. Together, they looked out at the shimmering river, ready to begin again.

He fell into doubt right after that, he had never met her once. He went to that house curiously and scaredly. When he arrived, he stood outside the house and called inside to see if anyone was there. And then a woman's voice came out, she told him that he went into the house and not brought anything. At that time he felt quite scared but he did not inform the police but he went in with a phone. Suddenly, a girl went out with some other people and it was his old friends and came to celebrate his birthday, maybe he had forgotten his birthday because of a tiring day at work.

That place, the old hill overlooking the town, held memories of laughter, of dreams whispered under the night sky, and of a promise made years ago.

The cold wind brushed against her cheeks as she climbed the hill. The town lights shimmered below, but her eyes searched for something brighter. Then she saw him, standing by the oak tree, holding a small lantern.

“I wasn’t sure you’d remember,” he said.

“How could I forget?” she replied, smiling through the chill.

Tom took her hand and handed her another note. “Let’s start again,” it said. The lantern flickered, and as they stood there beneath the stars, Alison realized that sometimes, the past doesn’t have to stay behind, it can lead you home again.

Alison read the note, smiled and immediately put on her coat. It was a letter from her mother- who died of illness last year, and it was found in a dusty box in the corner of the shed. The note had an address and it told Alison to follow the address. At first, she was quite scared but the inquisitiveness made her decide to go there.

The day after, she prepared some water and food for her adventure. Alison waited for the train and began the journey. Because she was too tired, she fell asleep and when she woke up, Alison found herself in a picturesque place. " Oh, is that the place that mom mentioned!?", she said.

Get off the train, she was approaching a field surrounded by colorful flowers. Alison squinted and saw a small wooden house, she ran to the front of the house and knocked the door hesitantly. Finally, she opened the door and went inside. Surprisingly, she saw many pictures of her and her mother. In boxes containing each birthday letter until her 18th birthday. It had been prepared by Alison's mother before she passed away. Alion read the letter of her 11th birthday and coincidentally, it was also her birthday. Since then, every birthday, Alison would go to that small house, look at the photo and read her mother's letter.

After hearing that, Alison came home rapidly and prepared some food, drink and clothes to climb the mountain. Although the mountain was really high, he did that because he thought if he had taken this treasure, he would have been doing anthing the rest of his life. But unfortunately there was no one there, she was a bit disappointed because she thought it might be a romantic date organized by her boyfriend, suddenly a dark shadow ran past, it wouldn't be strange if it was in the city, but now she was in the middle of a cold and desolate forest. "Who is it?" Alison thought, then giggled when she thought it was her lover Alex, Alison said loudly "Alex stop teasing me" but nothing responded to her, only her voice echoed back, she started to feel uneasy but still tried to call him, a small rustling sound startled her, she gently turned around, "what was that?" she thought, Alison slowly walked back to the bushed. "SURPRISE? You're scared, right?" Alex said loudly, there was no romantic date in the woods. Alison froze and then laughed out loud, their laughter mingling together, but there was a small rustling sound that made them shiver, what could it be?
