The need to improve energy efficiency is one of the main priorities of any government.

Countries have a significant potential for implementing energy efficiency measures. Increasing energy efficiency will help reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases and, accordingly, help prevent climate change.

One of the measures the government has taken to increase energy efficiency is the Energy Efficiency Act. It introduces the requirements of Directive 2006/32 / EC and regulates public relations related to the implementation of the state policy for increasing energy efficiency in final energy consumption and the provision of energy services.

The purpose of the Law is to give a clearer definition of energy efficiency as a national priority in the implementation of state policy in this area, a clearer definition of the commitments and support of the state for its development, to create institutional, regulatory and financial conditions for the implementation of national policy as a prerequisite for successful integration with the European Union.

Based on Directive 2006/32 / EC and the Energy Efficiency Act, National Energy Efficiency Action Plans are being developed.

The Energy Efficiency Act establishes the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Sources Fund. 2. Wind energy - The criteria on the basis of which the energy potential is assessed are the average monthly wind speed - V (m / s), 10 m above the surface and
energy flux density (W / m 2).
3. Hydropower - The energy potential of the water resource used for the production of electricity from hydropower is highly dependent on seasonal and climatic conditions.
The assessment of the resource is reduced to determining the water quantities (m3 / s).
4. Geothermal energy - Geothermal energy includes: the heat of thermal waters, water vapor, heated rocks located at greater depths. The energy potential of the thermal waters is determined by the utilized flow rate and the realized temperature difference (cooling) of the water.
5. Biomass energy:
5.1. The use of biomass from the forestry and related industries - data on the extraction, utilization and potential of the wood obtained from sanitary felling on the territory of the municipality.
5.2. Use of biomass from agriculture by sectors - agriculture and animal husbandry.
5.3. Use of biomass from the fishery and the production of aquaculture on the territory of the municipality.
5.4. Use of biomass from industry.
5.5. Use of biomass from household waste.
5.6. Use of other types of biomass.
