FedUp is a documentary that exposes many thoughts on our current food industry and production. It places a heavy focus on the added sugar in our diet and big food companies hiding true health facts. Please use the sheet on your table to share your thoughts on this documentary.

In the Fed Up documentary, what really shocked me was how much obesity is becoming an epidemic in our world today -- I never realized how much it is growing. Additionally, it opened my eyes to how companies in the food industry target people our age and under to buy their products, and I feel it is truly giving people of our generation and under a bad perception of what food is. It allowed me to be exposed to the idea of what our generations could become in the future.

First of all, I believe all the added sugars to many foods is a direct cause of the growing obesity in the United States. The FedUp documentary is one hundred percent correct when they say the government will eventually need to intervene in many food and drug laws. For me, it was a reminder to keep up my mainly healthy lifestyle of not overeating because I know that the more extra empty calories you consume, the worse you feel. It also affects how much fat you have on the inside and outside. Over time, it will catch up to you and type 2 diabetes can be developed. In 1980, there were zero cases of type 2 diabetes for adolescents, so why are there so many cases today?

First, I think that it's fascinating that we consume so much sugar in a day. The fact that the government is fine with this is just horrible to think about, and I think we need to take action right away before we're too late and the world is obese. In my personal opinion, I think we should begin "boycotting" (in a sense) certain foods that contain so much sugar and other unhealthy things that the government seems to be fine with. We should also positively encourage people to consume more fruits and vegetables while pointing out the positive effects that they can have on you. We can all make a little difference by working together. I just want to make sure that my future children and even grandchildren aren't hypnotized by the unhealthy sugary foods, and do not have to deal with what some poor children have to deal with.

We have the big companies denying any negative impacts on our health when educated scientists and physicians saying how bad processed foods, fast foods, and the hidden sugars in majority of what we buy overtime is causing irreversible damage to our health. I think there needs to be a change in what we have put in front of us and that new options need to be more readily available.

I found it very interesting that the food industry replaced fat with sugar in products that customers are expecting to be healthier for them. Personally, I feel like they try to deceive you into not knowing how much sugar you are getting especially since they do not place the daily percentages on the bottles for sugar. I think this video opened my eyes to the importance of healthy eating and knowing what you eat in your daily life and I will start making more conscious decisions.

I like what the documentary was saying but one of the interview changed what I thought about it. There was an interview with a soda person? but the interviewer asked them a question they avoided the question and they said they needed to gather their thoughts and the documentary did not tell us what that man thought about the industry. I like the story but I think that some things were cut and displayed in the favor of the narrator's opinion. I do think obesity is a problem in America but I think that the government needs to accept that they cannot tell parents what to feed their children they just need to state the facts and let the parents develop their own opinions about the food.

I personally think right now sugar isn't a problem for me, but I will soon have to look into it because diabetes runs in my family on my mom's side. So often we just get a snack out of the pantry without knowing what goes in it at all. I think this helped me realize that the food which is advertised to us so often has no real benefit to our health. I also learned that as a consumer, we need to be aware the choices that we make while we shop, ie picking the natural choices as opposed to processed cheaper choices. It may be more expensive, but the natural sugars, fibers, and more help our body much more than the mass produced processed foods that fill the supermarket shelves today.

I thought that the documentary was very unexpected. It was refreshing to see the truth about nutrition labels come out and it also contained some very surprising information, like the fact that some schools use to serve junk food each day as a lunch. I thought that it brought up some good points on how to deal with food advertisements and companies pushing products towards the younger generation. In the end all of it amounted to the same thing, to deal with food companies we must band together and have a firm resolve. We must all put forth our best efforts to improve so our society and life are happy and healthy

I thought the documentary was very interesting because it was about trying to stay healthy. The one thing that shocked me was that the more the sugar you intake, the easier it is to gain weight. When I saw how much sugar we intake compared to the amount of the suggested amount of sugar daily, I nearly screamed, because the amount I intake is less than what they showed, somehow.

When I watched the film, I almost started to tear up because I have also been made fun of because of my weight, so I understand how they feel. Now it's not the same type of pain, but I know what's it's like to be bullied and sorta close to death. It really opened my eyes to what I put in my body and how other people feel about me because I can eat really anything I want and not gain weight. Also, it really does affect me personally because I know people who really have to watch what they eat down to the very gram of sugar. Either way I think everyone is beautiful in their own way.❤️

I was surprised to hear that the majority of our daily diet has lots of unhealthy ingredients. Also, I was never aware of all of the effects sugar can have on our bodies over time. The importance of healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables is very apparent to me now. Watching the video especially before having lunch makes me feel guilty for what i've done to my body this far in my life. However, I am so thankful to have been exposed to this documentary and it's importance.
