This unit will be conducted using Binders where 8th grade science students will be able to upload their notes, lab reports, and useful videos/ links. Students will take notes, complete worksheets, and collaborate with one another in lab groups and perform experiments. They will utilize digital tools to enhance their reflecting time and analyze the unit.

Objective: SWBAT interpret Newton's 3 Laws of Physics and asses how they describe motion and forces.

Sub Objectives:

Connections: Students will draw on prior knowledge of gravity, motion, speed, and the concept of a science law.

Skills: SWBAT to explain the concept of motion and forces through velocity, Newton's 3 Laws of Physics, and through graph demonstration.

Relevance: SWBAT apply motions and forces to their everyday lives and give examples such as a bat hitting a ball, sitting in a chair and stationary objects don't move unless acted upon.

Reflection:
Students will be given an adequate amount of time to reflect on the resources they have been given. They will self reflect through one minute essays after lectures, summaries after labs, and through the Kahoot test questions assignment.

The online tool LiveBinders will be used as a primary reference for the students to compile their units work. LiveBinders will allow them to easily organize their notes and other helpful material to refer to in high school/college. It will also provide them a place to reflect on the information they have gathered in this unit. The portfolio will be evaluated at the end of the unit and will be worth 50 points.

Students will utilize Kahoot to create their own online quiz to integrate into their portfolio. The five best questions will be selected as test questions and extra credit will be given to the creators. This will allow them to critically think about the material they learned to develop a challenging question. Students will also receive extra credit for completing one of their peers quizzes.

Students will utilize GoogleDocs to construct their lab reports and submit to their LiveBinder. GoogleDocs will allow them to access their reports from any location and can share the link with their peers for editorial purposes.
