Any collegiate endeavor of mine appears to be facilitated by the UL and I cannot wait to begin utilizing of all its wonderful resources! E-Journals, the Search by Discipline, and Global Health will be sites I will definitely use in my research! With all of the insight I have gained through the Library Day information session, I don't have to revert to Google anymore for my research!

I found the database search information the most useful and relevant to our current assignment. I used the Proquest advanced search with multiple terms to look for articles. I used what I found to narrow down my topic and ultimately find the article I am using for my science poster. The peer review filter on advanced search was especially helpful for this assignment. I think it will take some time to become familiar with all of the online tools and where to find them, so hopefully I will have more opportunities to utilize these resources soon.

I found that the UNC libraries was a extremely helpful resource that I had no idea existed. The site has everything that you could possibly ask for, even the best study spots based on different compatible environments (loud, pure silence, a mix of both..etc). Also, I really liked how friendly and welcoming the librarians were and how willing they were to help with any and all questions that one can possibly have. The library is so incredibly useful with so many resources beyond the scope of research. I found it really intriguing how they have activities such as the Clue game for Halloween and fun classes like Adulting 101. I loved how I could get a free NYT subscription as well (already subscribed). :)

The most useful tool the library can provide me is their advanced search. Not only does it negate articles or journals I don't need but it also pin points topics. Going further beyond into this advanced search I found that I can filter my search for any other subcategory such as language, country, source type, and document type. I plan on using this tool for many years into the future. Thank you libraries.

I loved the demo of the various databases, as this was a resource I had not used before and is crucial to finding articles for our project. To find my article, I used ProQuest, since it tells you exactly which articles are peer-reviewed scholarly article entries. I quickly and easily found two or three in the field I was interested in, and the abstracts helped me narrow it down to one. I'm still kind of confused about how to know which article is the best for this particular project, and I'm a little worried that mine isn't research-based enough, even though there is a set procedure used in it. Also, I haven't had to define hardly any words, which was a bit of a red flag that maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.

I find most useful the information about research help such as databases that I can use or where I can go for help (the librarians). I really thought the proquest central database was helpful because you were able to find scholarly articles but then filter the results by a lot so you weren't completely and utterly overwhelmed by your search results. I think this database will really help me in the future. I liked in particular that you could choose to look at peer reviewed articles only because I was having trouble knowing if the articles I was looking at were ones or not. Some questions I still have is how do you use the librarians as resources exactly. Do I need appointments for their help?

I found that ProQuest and Science Daily websites very helpful and since I am double majoring in biology and music, I trust that I'll be using those databases more often in the future. I also found that teaching us how to find books online was very useful because it's just not practical for us to go poring over the shelves of Davis Library for hours to find just one book. I would still like to know more general research tips, like HOW to search for and find results more efficiently and how to know if articles are peer-reviewed or not if the database doesn't tell you it is. I would also like to know how exactly the design labs work.

It makes me more confident in going to the library for help because these people know what they are doing and know of the topics we as students are trying to write about. It really helps that all the librarians seem very friendly and approachable. I will most definitely keep using the database resource of using AND/OR/NOT as an option to help me limit or expand my search across said database. At the moment, I do not have any questions about research even though I am quite sure that there are helpful resources I still do not even know to ask about. However, I will certainly ask if any questions arise.

I love that there are librarians that specialize in different areas of research and can help me get off to a good start with my research for any type of assignment. Another tool that I was really glad to find out about was the online tool that allows you to find the perfect place to study based on library hours, noise level, and environment. With assignments that involve reading and writing, I work best in complete silence, so I was really thankful for a tool that could help me find that. Throughout my college career, I think I will definitely make good use of the database search tool and the online journal search tool to find scholarly articles that fit all of the requirements for the assignment that I am doing research for.

The UNC library website has everything about the library that you Ould need to know and is a quick and easy resource to access anywhere. I found the chat feature interesting as you can send a quick message or question to the librarian that could be answered over the computer.

I found that the online resources were most useful because they are easily accessible and are really helpful for students who need help more quickly than others. Some of these online resources included the use of databases to help filter out unreliable or unnecessary sources for research. However, the library also holds appointments with librarians in order for students to get personal feedback about any resources they chose as well as getting assistance to find new resources. From the session, I specifically found a database that helped me with my research for my public health topic.
