Human trafficking is a sensitive topic for most people -everyone because it is advocating that it is okay to treat human beings like objects and materials. As a woman I feel like we are most targeted and seen as materials and seen as we don't have the same strengths as others(men). I feel like acknowledging the problem instead of ignoring could educate people around the world on how much of a problem human trafficking is. Personally I think I could make people like myself more woke on how much of an impact human trafficking is to so many people around the world. Russia is a main country where woman, men, and children are trafficked into forced labor. In the 1900's the spotlight fell on the thousands of woman and minors trafficked out of Russia into prostitution. Sadly the attention did not last long enough to try and help and solve the problem. The current estimate of the number of people trapped in human trafficking is 21 million, just imagine how many human beings are out there scared and don't even look forward to another day. Human trafficking has become modern day slavery and yet is not prioritized as something that needs attention and change. I think there are many ways we can work towards fixing human trafficking. One way I think could have a greater impact on bettering human trafficking is educating. Educating more people around the world on the day to day problems mainly woman and children face surrounding human trafficking could have a huge toll on the attention put towards the situation. Right now countries are working on plan to deal with human trafficking in the future but what we really need to do is work on fixing it now. As most of us are living our lives freely there are people struggling around the world who have a terrible quality of life because they are living without freedom. Another way to work towards fixing human trafficking is coming together as one and hold an event to raise awareness. Sure there are people out there already holding events talking about Human trafficking but why not start your own event and work towards raising awareness around your community.

At this point anyone can become a victim of human trafficking. Just being at the wrong place at the wrong time could easily take a big toll on your life. In Russia woman and children are normally targeted because they are seen as most needy and vulnerable. In the eyes of a predator you would see them going for the weak and homeless or those struggling.  In interviews and confessions of victims their stories all have something in common , either needing something, begging, or just being at the wrong place. As I read through their stories I can't even imagine being in a situation where I wasn't object to making my own choices. As we go on in life there are people being held back from their lives in relation to being trafficked around the world without a say. Is human trafficking the same as slavery?
Worldwide many people refer to human trafficking as modern day slavery. Although people don’t look at it as important as the slave trade, human trafficking in my point of view is as important and intense as the slave trade and slavery in general.

     2. What is the actual definition of Human trafficking?
Human trafficking is the threat or use of force, coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, abuse of power or vulnerability , or giving payments or benefits to the person in control of the victim. Human trafficking involves the recruitment, transportation, harbouring and or exercising control over a human being and taking away of their freedom in general.

3.What efforts are being made to help prevent and or fix human trafficking?
January 2018 has been declared Human trafficking awareness month. Many people have gotten together to discuss frequently asked questions about human trafficking, and learned more from woman who have made battling modern-day slavery their professional mission. While some countries are creating policies that work for their cultures, others are lagging behind with no counter-trafficking laws at all. There are also some international standards; In 2003 the UN protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons established a universal trafficking definition and set a goal for countries to prevent and combat trafficking and assist victims. Basically many countries are working together or singular to come up with a set plan that instigates working towards preventing human trafficking. How they plan to address and sooner change human trafficking  and make change possible is soon to be released with a set plan released in the future.
