America grew politically and physically very quickly, despite their hard situation. When America was threatened by frances presence we took caution and got more land through the louisiana purchase which more than doubled our land. We also grew as we traded more with other countries and started building allies. The Adams-Onis Treaty allowed us to gain even more land including the oregon territory and florida from spain. The newly formed united states felt threatened by spain and russia pushing in we made the monroe doctrine, and this made it so they would not get in each others business

The United states western expansion was good for us because we got lots of things out of it. One great idea that came from it was the monroe doctrine because it allowed us to expand our nation without people getting in the way or causing problems. If they tried to act upon the newly independent states we would see it as "dangerous to our peace and safety.

There was many people involved in the western expansion, and they were all very important. The person that I think is one of the more important was the president himself Andrew Jackson. Jackson oversaw all of the expansions in 1829-1837. His major problem and role in the western expansion was that the indians near the mississippi would not free up the land for the american settlers, so throughout his presidency he pushed to free up that space for the americans. When the indian removal act of 1830 gave him the funding and power needed to remove the indians from the spot further expanding the United states as a whole.

Source:http://bit.ly/2gqniwe
