The materials I used for this project was scissors, glue, colored paper, a ruler, and a pencil. My experience while making this style of art was interesting but fun. I enjoyed drawing and figuring out how to create it perfectly.

I really enjoyed this project because I got to think about positive and negative space. I thought about abstract art. I remember making art similar to this in elementary school but wasn't taught the meaning behind it. I remember it being fun to make and cool to look at once it's all finished which is also how I felt after I created these two different Notans. I found it peaceful and a way to step away from any other distractions such as scrolling through Tik-Tok for hours. I chose the indigo colored paper because it is one of my favorite colors. I chose 2 very personal photos. The first picture I chose was of my daughter Riley. She is 4 years old and the sassiest littler girl I have ever met, She was at school one day and the music teacher was handing the children instruments to play with. She got a hold of the guitar and said, "I have a guitar at home. My papa played guitar". She was referring yo my late father who had passed away when she was only 8 months. The second photo I chose was a dear friend of mine, Hans. He was a martial artist and a lover, never a fighter. He loved anything nature and just made the room smile when he walked in. He passed away not too long ago but his impact he had on my life, I will never forget. This is Hans in his element. I would not be surprised if someone in this class knew Hans. He was a very special person that anyone would love to have in their life. I really enjoyed this project because it was something I had never done before and it really kept me focused on what photo I wanted to use and how I would connect to it on a more personal level. This was a very fun project. I hope everyone enjoys my pieces.

I found this assignment enjoyable and liked the outcome. I would definitely use this type of artwork again  and implement this style or art in other creativities. I decided to do two different sized for this to see the difference. I had to color the paper with crayons and to stick them down I had to use tape. I definitely think that glue would have looks prettier and made it easier. When i was trying to stick them together, they kept moving and it was a bit challenging. Overall this project was fun and interesting. Having a smaller size of paper was more difficult than the bigger one. At first, I struggled with coming up an idea for the assignment, so I just decided to doodle what ever came to mind, and these are the results. 
Then, I had a really hard time making clean cuts with the paper knife in the first design, so I had to switch to using the scissors completely for the second one.  Overall, this project was a fun change from my usual schoolwork.
