It’s full of music, food, and dancing. While we see it as a joyful tradition, people from other countries may find it shocking or dangerous due to the involvement of animals and risk to participants.

Our tradition is to gather together to pray and sing specific hymns for the occasion. At the beginning and end of the Sabbath, we form a circle, holding hands.

In my family, Christmas is a very special tradition. Every December, we prepare natilla and buñuelos, typical Colombian desserts. We also light candles on December 7th for “Día de las Velitas.” People from other countries may find it surprising because we celebrate with a lot of food, music, and fireworks.

In my family, we celebrate Christmas together. We decorate the house, have dinner, and drink hot chocolate with buñuelos or pandebonos. We also light candles on the Day of the Little Candles. On New Year’s Eve, we eat twelve grapes at midnight, put lentils in our pockets, and run around the block with a suitcase to bring good luck and travel. For us it is normal and fun, but for people from other countries it could be surprising or very strange

In my family, we celebrate Christmas and New Year. On those days, we have a special dinner, gather together, and enjoy a great time. I don’t think this tradition would be shocking for people from other countries, because Christmas and New Year are celebrated almost everywhere in the world

In My Town, in january, we celebrate the San Antonio novenas. For nine days, we make a procession with the Saint through the streets, and on the last day, january 17th, we burn pyrotechnic castles. For other people, this celebration with fire and a Saint in the streets could be shocking, as it is not a common tradition in many places.
