While researching about bioplastics I learned many important things. I learned that not all of our plastic is actually recycled. I also learned that it takes hundreds of years just to break down a couple plastic bags. Lastly, I learned that if someone drank polluted water they could get kidney/liver cancer, damage the nervous system or even death. All this means we should change the way we work with plastics.

I learned that plastics don't get recycled and 2,205 pounds of plastic is in the ocean. I also learned that in January 1992 a cargo ship traveling from Hong Kong to Washington got caught in a storm and 4 containers went overboard and the were plastic rubber ducky's, plastic beavers , and plastic rubber turtles. I also learned Ocean plastic pollution is a massive environmental problem. Millions of tons of plastic waste enter the ocean every year, even plastic that goes in the trash can often ends up in the ocean. Great Pacific Garbage Patches threaten ocean animals.

Plastics cause a huge threat to animals in land and sea. For example, organisms can die because they get it into their lungs and they are harmed. The sun burns the plastic and breaks it down; fish also nibble on that plastic which is not biodegradable. The plastic becomes microscopic. It's nonrenewable, and it gets into their lungs and kills them. They could become extinct. Another issue is that small particles of plastic can get into our brain and cause us harm. The plastic can cause us to forget things by killing our brain cells. In conclusion, YOU should reuse your plastic in creative ways or whatever and don't recycle it or throw it away.

Plastics cause animals eat plastic bags cuz they mistake it for food.An effect of animals eating plastic bags it erases the animal population.Animals choke on the plastic bags and die that way and they also die from it getting stuck then they can't eat.200 million dollars a year is spent cleaning the environment and the ocean. They have to pay for the cleaning machines that do some cleaning they have to hire people to work. There is a very low percent of plastic bags that are recycled.Birds and animals will die from eating them. So people need to pay a lot of attention to what they do with their plastic and they need to put plastic bags in recycling bins.
