schools and how it impacts us in our daily lives and our world. Foods in landfills create methane gases which increases global warming. People are starving and do not have access to food, while we are wasting instead of giving it away. Food waste in schools has been a problem for decades and that is something that we need to change. Schools are also losing money by students throwing away their foods. Schools should give students longer lunch periods, so kids can have time to finish their meal instead of throwing it away, and more choices with their food choice. This issue is not just nation issue but a worldwide issue.

Solving the food waste problem at school.

Here are a few ideas for resolving the school's food waste problem. First and foremost, we could serve smaller portions of food to the students, allowing them to finish their meals on time. Second, schools can reduce, recover, and recycle uneaten food by students. They can reduce food waste by improving ordering, prepping, and storage techniques, recovering wholesome uneaten food and donating it to feed people in need, and recycling discarded food for other uses such as animal feed, compost, and energy generation.

school teachers , I am going to talk about a big problem at school which is food waste. At each meal break the students throw out loads of their food that they couldn't finish, so they throw the food away and I'll give you some solutions about this big problem, we can provide a little food for the female students to eat. Enough and do not waste food. We can also donate the rest of the food to street cats and dogs. Also, female students waste food because of the little time for that and need more time in their lunch break. We can encourage female students not to waste food in a beautiful way by performing a competition for which there is a prize, all because Islam is keen not to waste food, and it has been mentioned In the Noble Qur’an, ( يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ ), with my best wishes Areej Hardan

Headmistress, I'm going to talk about a big problem our school faces, which is food waste. At every lunch break, students throw in so much food they can't finish. So they think they have to get rid of it. Here are some suggestions to solve this problem. First of all, we can provide leftovers to some of the animals in the school or outside, such as cats and birds, so that we can prevent food waste in our school. Secondly, we can also distribute food to the school cleaners, which means we take the extra food we didn't eat and give it to the cleaners at school or outside. There can also be competitions for the most students who do not waste food, and we put beautiful prizes in the conclusion. The school should encourage students to reduce food waste because it is a source of energy and nutrition, and its waste is harmful to our society. Best Regards, Noora Abdulla

Hello my friends, I have noticed lately that food is wasted in an exaggerated way, as there are many people who throw some leftover food in the trash and this is considered taboo - because food is a blessing and we should not throw it on the ground, we must provide food, so there is no need To buy all kinds of food and waste it, and this is a very big mistake. We have to save and save the remaining food in the refrigerator so that we can eat it next time or give it to the needy.

We must bring a little food, and if there is little of it left, we must give it to the worker, but we should not throw it in the trash. Also, if there is excess food left, we put it in a refrigerator for people who do not have food.

Sarah Abdul Ghani ❤
Thank you for  reading 💚💚

I am going to talk about a big problem facing our school, which is food waste. At every lunch break, students throw in massive amounts of food that they can't finish. So they think they have to get rid of it. We can solve this problem with some solutions, we can serve the meal to the students in small quantities, so that they can finish their food on time. Second, we can also have a composting system, which means we take leftover fruits and vegetables and use them to help the plants in our school grow. There can also be prizes for students who help reduce food waste. In conclusion, the school should encourage students to reduce food waste because it is a source of energy and nutrition, and wasting it harms our immunity, and our Islamic religion warns in many hadiths and verses about wasting food. {وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ}
         Best Regards, muna hezam

April 9, 2019 — In 2015, food policy researcher Melissa Terry was analyzing the role of nutritional education on food choices at an elementary school in Fayetteville, Arkansas. “I kept seeing so much food wasted during lunch, particularly unopened items,” Terry recalls. “My instinct as a farm kid — knowing what it takes to get healthy food out of the ground — was, don’t throw that away! Hold it back for someone who might want it.”

Watching nutrition directors hustle “to get good food served” with limited resources in a state with high rates of childhood obesity and food insecurity — only to toss it in the garbage— was hard for Terry to stomach. Still, there was pushback against giving the food one kid didn’t want to another who did. In the risk-averse environment of the school cafeteria, nutrition directors worried about running afoul of U.S. Department of Agriculture and state health department regulations, and of getting kids sick.

Curious about how much food was actually being trashed, and just what were the rules about redistributing unused food, anyway, Terry reached out to the USDA (which oversees the National School Lunch Program, or NSLP), then the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, in charge of trash-related issues). She asked about user-friendly protocols for auditing plate waste; there weren’t any. She discovered that share tables, where kids can place unopened food they don’t want so others can help themselves to it, are encouraged by the USDA (although some state regulations prohibit them) — but that fact was poorly communicated
