         <title>MY SCHOOL</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The name of our school is “Dr. İlhami Tankut Anatolian High School”. Our school is an Anatolian High School which aims academical success. 90% of our students enter university after school. The students are selected for our school after a central exam and we are one of the best Anatolian High Schools in Antalya. Our students are at the age of 14-18. We have 750 students and 45 teachers.
</p><p><span> Besides lessons, we have cultural and sports activities. Every year, we have a scientific exhibition in city center. Also, we have basketball, football, swimming and chess teams that join competitions in Antalya and Turkey. We have a dedicated group of teachers who collaborate to provide a better education for the students and help them learn and put into practice better.</span>

         <title>MY CITY / ANTALYA</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Antalya is one of the most
beautiful well-known coastal cities not only in Turkey but also all over the world. With its fantastic beaches, historical sites, waterfalls, caves and a lot of natural beauties, it hosts thousands of tourists every year.

It is located in the Southern part of Turkey, in Mediterranean Region. Transportation is never a problem in Antalya. Hundreds of planes take off and land here every day from all cities in Turkey and also almost all countries in the world. You can find economical tickets any time of year. </p>&nbsp; It is also very easy to travel in the city center and other cities around. Traffic isn’t a problem in our city. As for accommodation, Antalya is the best place in Turkey with a number of hotels in both city center and in the holiday villages around. You can find cheap, comfortable and luxurious hotels easily (see webpage). In our opinion,
everyone should come and enjoy paradise in Antalya.

         <title>MY JOURNEY OF TEACHING</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I have been teaching for 24 years. <br></p><p>I'm a high school teacher. I teach 9th-10th-11th and 12th grades aged between 14-18. <br></p><p>My students are very enthusiastic and open-minded. So when I started innovative approaches in class, they were eager to join to innovative and technological learning.  When I met iTEC first, I was so excited in order to learn and teach. Because a person who is open and eager to learn new things, especially a teacher, learns while teaching. <br></p><p>Technology is the need of our century. And education always needs innovation. <br></p><p>I see that my students have been using technology like tablets, laptop or smartphone etc... , but not exactly for information and education. They use them for fun, games and chat of course. But to me they should technology for education and I decided to encourage them to change their learning style. And I did. They managed. We have less chance to access tablets than laptop but I made them feel free to use all the devices both in class and at home. Because they have generally all kinds of technology devices. They show a great success in this process. I love my students and my job very much. Teaching is my character and life style. I really never prefer another job.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>iTEC is really the best project that changes the education system. <br></p><p>Here is my iTEC experience:</p><p>As I said above, I want to change my students' learning habits. They used to use technology for only fun but after they had met iTEC, they started to use it for education. While this process, I saw that they had fun while learning, had permanent information, became innovative and creative and of course therefore they had self-confidence and proud of themselves. They also got the appreciation and support of their parents. </p>]]></description>

I made groups of the students, gave them different subjects and web 2.0 tools for their using  and wanted them to choose these subjects according to their interests, needs and preferences. Using innovative technologies and the Internet I saw my students become more enthusiastic, motivated, hard-working and self-confident. By means of using tablets, laptops, smartphones and also smartboards my lessons have become productive. I have been making my students taken away from waste of time and being lazy. They could improve their English.</p><p>We have been using tablets and other devices for <strong> content creation, collaborative learning, personalized learning and the flipped classroom.</strong> </p><p>Also I have included parents and they have supported them and have been happy to see their children's achievements so students have felt the feelings of happiness and pride. And they have collaborated with other students in the school and even other schools. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I form groups of my students via <b>Teamup</b>. Each group includes 5-6 students. In my classes there are 30-35 students so I form 5 or 6 groups in each class. I form groups of them according to their individual needs, competences, capabilities and learning preferences. I give them the chance to choose the members of their own groups. They form their own groups by themselves. The I give them the subjects to search as a group. <br></p><p>They distribute the researches that they will do and do division of labour.  They come together and search outside classroom. They share their ideas and preparations in class.. Division of labour works but when there is no the Internet access, it doesn't work. </p>]]></description>

When they show their works to the class and also the other students and parents, they feel the feeling of being admired so they motivate and focus on their tasks in the process. They do brainstorm, collaborate, disscuss and share ideas.<br></p><p>Sometimes some students lose their motivation and focus. In this condition I encourage them with good marks and give them extra tasks.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Of course, like every classroom there are all kinds of learners in my classroom, too. 
<p>Nowadays,
traditional methods have been still using in most of the schools and the
approaches focused on “Logical and Verbal” intelligence have been practiced.
However, everyone has different abilities of learning, solving problem and
communicating as well as intelligence. I believe that we have to leave the
traditional methods to educate the person whom the technology age needs, to
produce the methods addressing to the intelligences of “Digital, Verbal,
Visual, Music, Physical, Social, Internal and Natural” and use these new methods. <br></p><p>While the process of determining the learning styles of my students, I intend
and plan that I will be able to have access to every kind of intelligence such
as Intelligences of “Verbal” that learn by listening, reading, writing and
speaking, “Digital” that fancy drawing graph, schema and figure, “Visual” that
convert the information into perceptible and visual presentation, “Physical”
that learn better via active participations, “Social” that enjoy group works,
“Music”, “Internal”, and “Natural”. I aim that they will search with pleasure
by using innovative education technologies, improve themselves by sharing their studies and learning criticizing/being criticized, enhance their
self-confidence via the success and feedback by feeling the sense of being liked.</p><p>In my lessons I observe my students and prepare them questionnaire about their learning styles and preferences. Then I decide that which learning style / styles of multiple learnings is / are suitable for them and support them.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Of course I have challenges in flipped classroom. One problem is that not all the student's have the equal opportunities of having the Internet and technology in my class. The other problem is time of course. As a teacher, I can't have enough time to everyone in a limited time. The other challenge is the worry of finishing the school curriculum. And in the class the other one is that I have students in different levels:</p><p>1-Students who have low motivation and low level</p><p>2-Students who are in medium level</p><p>3-Students who have high motivation and level</p><p>These differences make me slow certainly. But in spite of these chalenges flipping the classroom is amazing.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I have prepared an Erasmus + Project about using technology for education<br></p><p>Technology which is the necessity of our age has become the essential necessity of life. As information technologies are used in common at work, health, science and social life so on, they should be disseminated in education. We aim to enhance the quality of education to improve and to carry it to international platform. Using technology in our school in the format of Europeanness we intend to apply innovative technologies in education. We have observed that our students (14-19) have less motivation in the duration of lessons, their interest and attention disperse quickly, they have difficulties to catch the desired achievement and as a result of all they have been losing their enthusiasm for their school. We found out that the students are interested in technology especially the developments in communication, in every occasion they use their tablets and smart phones, they use technology but not for enhancing the success in their lessons. We noticed that we confronted with the fact that they use the information technologies with the intention of playing game and chatting on the Internet not for education despite that the usage of them is common among the students. As determining that this interest to the technology doesn’t enhance to the duration of education-training sufficiently, we set off with the question that how much does the education-training activity benefit from these improvements in the duration which the technology itinerates with giant steps. The target of canalizing the use of the innovative information technologies to education has become one of the main reasons of our project. Our students’ interest to the technology is too much but they don’t know web 2.0 tools so we will introduce and make them put into practice.</p>]]></description>
