An interesting true story about a man who experienced locked-in syndrome while doctors and his family believed he was braindead for 18 months. The best part of the podcast is how charming Jake Haendel is but the malicious conduct of his wife and the family drama that surrounded him don't have a real cinematic climax. But I'm sure the idea of locked-in syndrome could inspire a horror movie.

This felt really original in tone. I didn't love it but was intrigued by the voice...especially because the filmmaker is writing/directing a feature-length version which will be produced by Killer, Fit Via Fi, and Josh Peters. And Will Sharpe is attached to star.

This is not adaptable (nor is it particularly propulsive) but it is just a beautifully shot Portuguese film. The filmmaker won best director for the film at Cannes last year and it's now on Mubi

Really enjoyed this film! One thing I most appreciated is that even periphery characters had fully developed back stories which helped the world feel real and made each character deeply human, which was a main theme of the film.
