Schiff Chinese Expedition breannaawilliams https://padlet.com/breannaawilliams/b7y7tp1wt6eu/wish/192699557 This collection consists of objects obtains by Berthold Laufer, a German scholar of Asian languages. He was sent on an expedition through China by Jacob H. Schiff which in turn collected over 7,500 objects. Later, Laufer sent the American Museum of Natural History 143 photographic prints for use.

This collection also includes over 200,000 color transparencies, including 35 mm slides and over 55,000 lantern slides. While there seems to be no end date for this collection the earliest negative were collected in the late 1800's.

Seekers of general information may be better served by using collections at a New York Public Library branch.

All patrons must leave coats and bags in the designated area at the entrance to the Library, and must register at the Reference Desk before using Library facilities. Patrons may not bring food or drink into the Library, nor use mobile phones there. Patrons are allowed in the Reading Room and in designated areas of Special Collections. The stacks are not open to the public and Library materials cannot be borrowed.

This page is used to announce new exhibitions and special collections that are coming to the museum. On the right side of the library news page, there are a list of tags that you can click on to take you where you want to go. So while this technically isn't a blog, the library uses tags to take visitors to different subjects that are highlighted.
