         <description><![CDATA[<div>This collection consists of objects obtains by Berthold Laufer, a German scholar of Asian languages. He was sent on an expedition through China by Jacob H. Schiff which in turn collected over 7,500 objects.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This collection consists of consists of over one million black-and-white photographs including 850,000 negatives and 900 collections of photographic prints containing 125,000 individual photographs. This collection also includes over 200,000 color transparencies, including 35 mm slides and over 55,000 lantern slides.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The collections of the Library have been developed for advanced information and research needs in the subject areas of anthropology, astronomy, geology, paleontology, and zoology. Seekers of general information may be better served by using collections at a <a href="http://www.nypl.org/">New York Public Library</a> branch.</div><div><br></div><div>All patrons must leave coats and bags in the designated area at the entrance to the Library, and must register at the Reference Desk before using Library facilities. Patrons may not bring food or drink into the Library, nor use mobile phones there. Patrons are allowed in the Reading Room and in designated areas of <a href="https://www.amnh.org/our-research/research-library/special-collections">Special Collections</a>.          <description><![CDATA[<div>While this library does not have a blog, they maintain their online presence by having a page dedicated to "Library News". This page is used to announce new exhibitions and special collections that are coming to the museum. On the right side of the library news page, there are a list of tags that you can click on to take you where you want to go.
