Review: Ten Commandments of Computer Ethics Q1. Which of the Ten Ethical Computing Guidelines do you think students violate most often? Q2. Why do you think these violations occur? Q3. What do you think could be done to reduce or eliminate such unethical behavior?

I think the ethical computing guideline that is violated the most by students is commandment 7 (Thou shalt not use other people's computer resources without authorization or proper compensation) and commandment 8 (Thou shalt not appropriate other people's intellectual output). Both these commandments refer to using other peoples work or resources without permission. Students who aren't familiar with proper citation guidelines, often end up using other work found online as there own.

I believe these violations occur because students may be unfamiliar with proper citation guidelines. Another reason why is because students do not know how to refer to other people's work correctly.

I think students/people should be encouraged to be more knowledgable on computer ethics. It's important to consider these things as almost everyone uses technology on a day to day basis. Also, considering all 10 commandments, people should consider having strong passwords, firewalls, and consequences for any serious ethical violations.
