The sky was painted with ultramarine and cobalt blue and for the stars and the moon van Gogh employed the rare pigment Indian yellow together with zinc yellow

Describe
In the foreground i see a tall narrow black mountain and a blue sky with stars and the moon. The middle ground has a large city with some lights on. Finally in the background there is a mountain range. The village is dark colors but brightly lit.

Analyze
There is many textures in the sky from a knife and thick layers of paint. Cool colors in the foreground and more warm colors in the middle and back.

Interpret
I get a sad gloomy vibe from this because even though the colors are cool they are dark and its night time with half the villages lights out.

Judge
I personally like the painting because all the textures and how he drew the mountain ranges in the background and then the narrow mountain in the foreground along with the sky. Also the way the city is dark with some lights on looks very nice.
