      <title>The Single Note by </title>
      <link>https://padlet.com/06daniela_hernandez/b7t9ez7wu8e1</link>
<description>Ratliff explains the significance a single note has on a musician. A single note is a way for a musician to be authentic. With a single note a musician has the opportunity to play it numerous ways. “With two notes you have structure, and you are already graduating into the possibility that someone else has played that structure before. But with a single note you have authenticity, because nobody else has played the single note exactly the same way.” I completely agree with Ratliff’s statements because a single note creates a signature for a musician in a song. An example that Ratliff uses is Drake’s “Furthest Thing”: “You know I stay reminiscin’ and makeup sex is tradition but you been missing girl and you…” In one breath, all around B. I think this creates an emphasizes on what’s being said. It makes the listener stop and listen to what is being played because it’s being played in a constant beat. An example that I could find of a single note would be Drake’s “I’m So Proud of You”: “I’m so, I’m so, I’m so, I’m so, I’m so proud of…” This is an example of a single note because Drake uses the same note and in the same breath. He does this to put an emphasis on what the song’s meaning.</description>
