"Hydro" means "water" in Greek - so "hydro energy" is made from water.
It might sound odd to you that we can use water to make electricity because they'res a dangerous combination, right? The water never makes any contact with electricity. Hydro Power is fueled by water, so it’s a clean source of energy, meaning it won’t pollute the environment because it is a type of Renewable Energy.
  • The energy generated through hydropower relies on the water cycle, which is driven by the sun which makes it a renewable eco-friendly power source.
  • Some hydropower facilities can quickly go from zero power to the maximum output because some hydropower plants can generate natural power immediately. Isn’t that cool???

                                       N  sides as well. Dams can trap fish and harm wildlife. We shouldn’t let this happen, or else animals could be stuck in captivity. This could be a huge problem for wildlife. Also, how are WILD animals supposed to survive in captivity??? There are lots of environmental consequences of obstructing water, flooding areas, creating massive reservoirs, changing water proceed, blocking the natural course of rivers, and constructing power lines and connections.
  • There are only a limited number of places where these power plants can be built otherwise they don’t work to make power as it usually does.
  • Hydro energy can impact on drought because it causes lack of water.
